Whose to say that those "pro-democracy" rebels were really "pro-democracy"? What type of "democracy" were they advocating?

The reporting at the time indicated they were pro western could we be 100 percent sure about that no but they seem a better option than Assad or ISIS.

What was Assad doing to us?

Directly nothing indirectly he has been and still is a sponsor of terrorism through out the region supporting groups like Hamas and Hezbollah who's actions can impact not just us but the rest of the world. The reality is unless we go in total isolationist mode or achieve the pipe dream of energy independence what happens in the middle east will always have a impact on us so the question becomes if a situation arises where you can help topple someone like this in favor of a possibly more moderate democratic leaning government do you want to take it? There is no guarantee what you will get will be any better but there rarely are any in life.

Putin is going to be now in charge. Maliki said in a BBC interview that he realized Obama's betrayal to the country .

He asked not only for drone strikes for over a year, but when Maliki begged Obama to help him Obama has refused.

Obama refused to sell him military airplanes. Putin has stepped in to fill the void. Maliki now will run with Russia.

So says Druggie Rush, the truth is more mundane:

Maliki, Putin discuss bilateral relations - Iraqi News

:D:lol::lol::D:lol::D:lol::D:lol::lol:

What does Limbaugh have to do with this? Give me a break. Maliki in a really heavy duty interview with BBC laid out his betrayal and where his alliegances spare now about to lie

You just gave Iraq to Putin.

Drones already there, read up on between writing F--- --- every sentence. :D Russia cannot handle RUSSIA, that nation can do diddly-squat in Iraq. And do not forget, last week Putin was a right wing hero. Correction, just two DAYS ago. "Putin to the Rescue".

Putin being a right wing hero is and always has been a left wing talking point and a very stupid one to boot. Pointing out that he is showing more power and influence on the world stage in getting what he wants over Obama the E.U. and pretty much anyone else is not hero worship it is a very sad reality and one no one is happy about.

It's simple, no money, no aid, no military intervention to any country in the middle east.
Look at our track record, we have had zero success over there by getting involved.

#ISIS Commander Abu Omar Photographed in Tent Marked 'U.S. Agency for International Development'
It's not a new photo. Pamela Geller had this last September, "Al Qaeda group in Syria enjoying USAID." As did Robert Spencer, "Al Qaeda-linked Syria group enjoying USAID?":
In any case, if this photo is real, it indicates yet again that our leadership in Washington is utterly clueless, and that their assurances that we are aiding only “moderates” are completely hollow.

Now, I will say; at least he put it before Congress. I hope he actually does the same if he wants deploy troops back to Iraq. This is one of the problems I have with the current Administration, I don't like their interventionist foreign policy, it's the same problem I had with the previous Administration.

I don't think that we should be sending ANY money, arms, or assistance to the Syrian rebels. How did that work out before? Where do you stand on this?

This is a pathetic question. I will waste no time debating whether it is right or not to sponsor terrorism and to destroy nations.

Well considering ISIS is part of the last group he armed I'd vote no.

Except that he didn't. The groups he armed have nothing to do with ISIS. But don't let facts bother you.

The problem with ISIS, of course, is that the Saudis, Qataris and Kuwaiti- our pals - were funding them because they wanted to get rid of Assad because he's pals with the Iranians.

The Zionists also want to get rid of Assad because his family has been against them for decades.

The entire Middle East is and remains an insane asylum, and we need to keep as far away from it as possible. Period.

I think you are under the false impression that anybody cares whether or not a self described "messiah" will debate them about anything.

Carry on.

:cuckoo:

go kill yourself for the sake of mankind, you are a genetic defect.

Uh idiot, there are WMD sites all over Syria. I guess you have no problem with LH or AQ getting their hands on Syria's WMDs.

Oh, you'll just claim they don't have any WMD.

FYI...Syria didn't hand over all their WMD to OPCW....

Show me in the Constitution where it states it's our job to intervene in Syria's civil war.

you're an idiot. Anyone that seriously wants wmd's can get them without the aid of Syria ... for all you know AQ may be making nasty gas in South America or Africa so don't give me the wmd crapola..

Putin is a KGB monster, his having any say is a disgrace, beyond "sad". I'll amend "right wing" to "some people", but those people are not pro-US now, and if they change with the President, they would change for a few dollars anyway. I am sick of hearing how great Putin is, the man is KGB, was, and remains so. I also object to Israeli citizens being referred to as Zionists, as though that is something negative.

Prove it pops.

They were there, part of the "insurgency".

Druggie Rush said almost the exact same thing as you wrote, and Maliki's "betrayal"? Why would the US be in debt to him? He is an opportunist, and set up a government almost all Shiite. He gave ISIS an excuse to recruit, so the US pays. But we cannot wait to see how bad ISIS gets, as we did with the mujahideen, and Taliban. Reagan called them "freedom fighters". remember? ISIS is funded by the precious Saudis and Qataris, as usual.
