Obama: Expectations for Middle East peace too high

President Barack Obama says his administration overestimated its ability to persuade the Israelis and Palestinians to resume meaningful peace talks.

Obama says both parties have been unwilling to make the bold gestures needed to move the process forward. If the U.S. had anticipated that earlier, Obama says he might not have raised his expectations so high.

Obama says the U.S. will continue to work toward a two-state solution in which Israel is secure and the Palestinians have sovereignty. His remarks came in an interview with Time Magazine published Thursday.

Years ago, Obama was apparently a very good student, but he has shown himself to be a much slower learner lately.

The middle east peace bs has been going on for 40 years. No one has figured it out yet and I honestly don't think anyone will. Nuff said.

Anyone in their right mind knows only the Israeli and the Palestinians are the only ones that can fix this. Ol'bammi is just doin what the rest of the presidents have done and givin it a go.

As a matter of fact, this is probly like the most dreaded part of the presidency when there are no wars going on.
