Obama admits: 'not familiar' with house bill

The entire premise for health care has little to do with health care, per say, and everything to do with the government running more of your life and taking away more of your choices.

He lets Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid write it up, is clueless about the details, and then signs it. Who said he was a smart guy???????????????? And you libs call Sarah and George stupid????

Maybe Zell Miller was write, he needs to quit galivanting around the planet and take some time to read the stuff he's signing.

I think he is still clueless about that no stimulus-stimulus bill that he rushed through and signed and he's probably lying awake at night wondering why it's not working. But what does he do, has Nancy pass the Cap and Trade or as better known the Cap and Tax, another debaucle.

Are you going thread to thread now re-posting the same trash? Just wondering.

You are aware, aren't you, that Congress is supposed to write legislation and it has to be written and voted on in both houses, and go through committee before it is in any shape to be signed, right?

Just because bush and congress were interchangeable for six years (thereby creating a good number of the problems we're dealing with now) doesn't mean that is the current case.

If you people weren't such morons, you'd be engaging in a dialogue about how the bill can be made better (assuming you idiots even know what's in it). Instead, you're doing the dittohead thing and praying for failure.

What a bunch of losers...

Well Jillian, I have enough personal responsibility to READ anything before I sign it, I expect my President to do the same, especially when he is spending MY money.

He also has the veto power and can use that at any time, of course, he does not read what he signs and doesn't know if he likes it or not.

So I'm betting you were smart enough to know what your mortgage agreement said? :eusa_shhh:

The congresscritters don't read it either.. Weren't they the very ones who voted the "stimulus" into law and didn't even know they had approved billions for AIG bonus'?????

Uh excuse me, but isn't it quite irresponsible for Obama to be stomping around and aggressively demanding and supporting a health care bill that he now "claims" he doesn't know the contents of. Is he incompetent, stupid or arrogant? If this proposed bill landed on his desk, he would have signed it in a heartbeat. I believe he is aware of what is written in this bill. He thought he could get it pushed thru before the public got wind of it. But now that he has been exposed and people are freaking, he claims he doesn't know what's in the bill. Who is advising this guy? So I ask you Barry, are you incompetent, stupid, a liar or just arrogant?

Wow, you were almost civil until you got to "morons," and "idiots." Try to be more articulate and focused.

Now with reference to the Congress, are you claiming that President Bush had more input with the Congress than President Obama does? And, if so, would that constitute an endorsement of President Bush as the superior politician?

Here are some aspects of the bills with which, I suspect, you will have trouble:
1. Senate Bill: Members of Congress "enjoy the widest selection of health plans in the country," according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. They "can choose from among consumer-driven and high deductible plans that offer catastrophic risk protection with higher deductibles, health saving/reimbursable accounts and lower premiums, or fee-for-service (FFS) plans, and their preferred provider organizations (PPO), or health maintenance organizations (HMO)." These choices would be nice for all of us, but they're not in the offing. Instead, if you don't enroll in a "qualified" health plan and submit proof of enrollment to the federal government, you'll be tracked down and fined (sections 3101, p. 104 and section 6055, pp. 107-110).

2. It is reasonable to require that people who accept a government subsidy for health insurance tolerate cost controls to protect taxpayers. But according to the terms of the Kennedy bill, you must enroll in a "qualified" plan or face a fine, even if you and your employer are paying the entire cost of the plan you already have (section 161, pp. 111-115).

3. House Bill. - President Obama promises that "if you like your health plan, you can keep it," even after he reforms our health-care system. That's untrue. The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests.
And as soon as anything changes in your contract -- such as a change in copays or deductibles, which many insurers change every year -- you'll have to move into a qualified plan instead (House bill, p. 16-17).

4. The price tag for this legislation is a whopping $1.04 trillion to $1.6 trillion (Congressional Budget Office estimates). Half of the tab comes from tax increases on individuals earning $280,000 or more, and these new taxes will double in 2012 unless savings exceed predicted costs (House bill, p. 199). The rest of the cost is paid for by cutting seniors' health benefits under Medicare.

5. The Congressional Budget Office estimates only 1 percent of the savings under the legislation will be from curbing waste, fraud and abuse. That means the rest will likely come from reducing what patients get.
