I know this has worked very well before in countries like Venezuela and Communist China. The lines were around the block and the people were joking about who would be the lucky one to get the last banana. It made for a better society where no one was rich and everyone felt like they were a part of the whole by sharing the pain. They had no rich people to blame for their being poor.

Those who grew up under that system were told over and over that their shared poverty was just temporary and very soon when Communism was fully implemented they would all bask in the glory of having as many bananas as they wanted.
