Nuclear power is the fastest growing source of electricity in the USA.

In recent years we have seen 3 new reactors come online. 2 units at Vogtle, 1 unit in Tennessee. ThreeMiile Island and Palusades in Michigan are restarting. Duane Arnold in the midwest is restarting. Now South Carolina will complete two AP-1000's

The USA has the power to grow the world's manufacturing industry. The only competition is the democrat-chinese party of pelosi, boxer, fiienstien, schumer, McConnell who represent the chinese
Eight years after construction of two AP1000 reactors at the VC Summer site in South Carolina was abandoned, Santee Cooper has announced it is in negotiations with Brookfield Asset Management about the potential completion of the units.

they're building another reactor here in Idaho. My grandson is majoring in nuclear engineering

You need to catch up. Boxer has been out of office going on 9 years. She is the reason we got Kamala! Feinstein's out too! She's taking an eternal dirt nap for two years. Her replacement got taken down to the floor for disrupting Noem's press conference.

McConnell's contacts (wife's family) are from the other China, Taiwan. He's out of power and retiring at the end of his term.

On everything else, I agree 100%.

Back when we had a sane GOP, McCain had a great plan with nuclear energy. Correctly pointing out that for 60 years, the US Navy had been running nuke power, maintaining it, etc....

That being said, this isn't one of those areas where you want the lowest bidder to be the guy you go with to make and manage the plant. What we should do is go deep into nuclear and get away from fossil fuels. The one caveat being that the US Navy runs the plants; soup to nuts. The Navy charges the utility a fee to manage the plant, the utility charges the customers, and the customers get a reliable power source with as many safety protocols that can be martialed put into place. Nobody gets a job because they know Becky in accounting or no-calls, no-shows because they got hammered the night before.

Hopefully they've got past the Mark5 issues......~S~

Our commercial power fleet is ran economically. Many nuke operators are old retired navy.
Our nuclear power plants have been perfect, why would you think the navy could operate anything they have no experience at.

Commercial Nukes are not the same as the navy nukes.

Of course, the Navy does not do the maintenance on the nuclear reactors. I know that cause I have inspected navy nuclear reactors.

Best to let those who have maintained our nukes forever, continue.

As they should be.
Many nuke operators are old retired navy.
Many are not.
Our nuclear power plants have been perfect,
Not remotely true.
why would you think the navy could operate anything they have no experience at.
You're joking, right?
Commercial Nukes are not the same as the navy nukes.
Same principle; its a matter of scale.

That dont happen now in our nuclear power plants. You want to prevent something that is already prevented.

So you're 100% sure that nobody got a job via nepotism at any time in any nuclear power plant in the US?

You're going to say yes. Everyone knows this; of course.

Everyone (including yourself) also knows that there is no way you could know for sure. But that won't stop you. You'll say the exact opposite of whatever you disagree with. You have a mental issue in that regard.

I am suppose to answer your most insane questions you can make up. Hahaha. Go ahead and declare your imaginary victory.

Nuclear power is the dominate power in the world. Technology created in the USA

The democrats have squandered our wealth, our standard of living, by fighting to destroy what is the most valuable source of energy.

Neoplasm? Hahahahaha

I just hope that they come up with serious security systems to guard these plants, considering the problem we have with radical Democrats these days.

Yes, Boxer, it was 11 years ago give or take that Boxer shut down San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant in Southern California. So I mention Boxer as being one of those many politicians that destroyed our standard of living by destroying nuclear power's full potential.

Nothing is more secure in the USA than our commercial nuclear power plants. No mass shootings inside one yet.

That's great, but with nukes, it only takes one slip up. I'm pro nuke but there are no room for careless security mistakes, and we know how careless our government can be.

Nuclear power, what do you want to know. I have worked at 65% of the nuclear power plants in the USA. I have worked at all the Nuclear Power plants. I worked at almost all the Canadian Nuclear plants. I even worked on the Canadian design Nuke in Argentina. Spain, I worked on all their Nukes. England, been there. Brazil, yep, worked there as well.

Navy nukes vs Commercial nukes. You think the Navy has BWR experience? I ask that cause you cant simply say commercial reactors are bigger, they are different designs altogether.

The Navy has essentially, no maintenance experience. The Navy could not run a Nuclear Power Plant outage. Zero experience.

The Navy does next to nothing to their Nuclear power plants. Many countries can not manage Nuclear Power Outages. There is not enough experienced personal. Most Maintenance workers at Nuclear power plants travel from plant to plant.

The Navy, who builds the reactors that the Navy uses? That would be the same company who built one of two Nuclear power plants that melted down in Pennsylvania, Babcox and Wilcox. Or is that BWxt today? Seeings how the old Babcox and Wilcox got sold off to the French. They had to peel off the part of the company doing the Navy work. I was an employee of the old and have worked for the two companies that followed.

Nuclear Power is pretty amazing, I have stood 20' from a nuclear fuel assembly just removed from a reactor. Pretty incredible, they look transparent cause of the radiation, better explained with google than by me. Pretty weird stuff.
  • Cherenkov radiation, a blue glow caused by charged particles traveling faster than the speed of light in a medium like water
