that is the "impression" given by your posts
No, Trump is saying that he might take control of the law and arrest teens who are criminals. Hitting someone and robbing him are criminal acts, according to the lawYou posted a cartoon saying that Trump would arrest a 14 year old for hitting their neighbor's son and taking his wallet. All I asked for was proof that Trump ever did that and, apparently, you can't provide any proof. Are you now willing to retract that cartoon for being fake news?
Your post is intellectually dishonest, and gaslighting, having us suppose those toddlers are 14. I have known some 14 year olds that should be tried as adults, and never see the light of day again!Trump posted the following message on Truth Social:
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control. Local “youths” and gang members, some only 14, 15, and 16-years-old, are randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent Citizens, at the same time knowing that they will be almost immediately released. They are not afraid of Law Enforcement because they know nothing ever happens to them, but it’s going to happen now! The Law in D.C. must be changed to prosecute these “minors” as adults, and lock them up for a long time, starting at age 14. The most recent victim was beaten mercilessly by local thugs. Washington, D.C., must be safe, clean, and beautiful for all Americans and, importantly, for the World to see. If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore. Perhaps it should have been done a long time ago, then this incredible young man, and so many others, would not have had to go through the horrors of Violent Crime. If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
This suggests that not only will anyone that doesn't see (and agree) with Trump "or wants to complain" about his way of thinking, should be put in Jail, including minors.

Then change your way of saying things. I have a LONG and "established" track record of success in reading other people's statements correctly by how they say thingsYour impression is biased and incorrect
Why differentiate?read the other posts. We ARE talking about "teen" criminals
I don't believe a life sentence without a chance at parole or redemption is reasonable for many 14 year olds. He needs to be locked up for awhile, definitely. If there is NO remorse or if the person seems like they are truly evil incarnate then maybe a LONG, INDEFINITE while.Cases are not all the same. If its determined that it was cold blooded murder with evil intent, yes. But many 14 year olds don't have the understanding or control that an adult has or should have.
After some of them get long prison terms, maybe the rest of them will get the message?
So you are for teens being criminals?No, Trump is saying that he might take control of the law and arrest teens who are criminals. Hitting someone and robbing him are criminal acts, according to the law

I think 18 is a reasonable age to hike up the stakes considerably and impose more serious penance if the person is competent and has a fairly normal IQ.
the constitution doesn't say anything about punishment for any crime and only lists treason for specific crimes with the required evidence to convict.No, I am for the laws and the Constitution being followed. I am against Dictators trying to run this nation.

Who should be treated as criminals. Our punishment for criminals is weak at its worst. Bring back the lash, watch those recidivism rates drop.read the other posts. We ARE talking about "teen" criminals

Life is as it always is (no difference from the past 100 years). Trump is trying to idiotically and stupidly trying to change things (as he always has.......................and failed to do in a positive way that does not cause more damage that good.Evidently, you're fine with teens being criminals.

Yes, Trump is trying to change things from high crime to little crime. Amazing how you guys can be for crime and criminals and then scratch your heads as to why you lost the election and now have a 19% approval rating.Life is as it always is (no difference from the past 100 years). From Congress.gov
Juvenile Delinquents and Federal Criminal Law: The Federal Juvenile Delinquency Act and Related Matters in Short
The federal Juvenile Delinquency Act (JDA) gives federal authorities three options when a juvenile violates federal criminal law. First, they can refer the juvenile to state authorities. Second, they can initiate federal delinquency proceedings. Third, if a case is retained in the federal system and involves a serious offense, they can petition the federal court to transfer the juvenile for trial as an adult (not be automatically charged as adults - as Trump wants to do). The JDA applies to those charged before the age of 21 with a breach of federal criminal law occurring before they reached the age of 18.
