Now that the table has turned, how will GOPer's react?

None of you team player assholes give a hoot in hell about spending or the debt....You just make yourselves look like even bigger boobs than you already are (if that's possible) with the finger pointing.
Not at all. That’s the point. Right now democrats aren’t kicking and screaming about the debt or trump spending but when we said Obama was doing a good job and we pointed to low unemployment and the stock market you republicans gave these arguments as to why Obama wasn’t doing a good job.

1. The debt.

2. His yearly growth number. In 2019 trump had only 2.3% growth yet you rave about his economy

3. The monthly job numbers. Trumps numbers are about the same.

And obama didn’t have to give that huge tax break away. Trumps signature accomplishment didn’t work and increased the debt. He said it would pay for itself. You knew that was a lie
None of that addresses the fact that you don't give one single flying fuck until the guy from the other team spends like mad and further balloons the debt.
We don’t care! We’re calling you guys out. When Obama was potus you were fiscally conservatives. And when biden wins you’ll start doing it again.

are democrats in Congress crying about the debt?

This is proof the media isn’t liberal because I don’t hear shit about the debt on tv since trump won.
I'm not a republican, dullard....Haven't fallen for the lie that they give a shit about spending and the debt for over 20 years.

And you still don't care when it's your team printing and spending like the Weimar republic....So STFU.
Look at the facts. Clinton didn’t spend a lot and obama was handed a Great Recession.

our pork goes to working Americans inside America. Your pork goes into bombs. Military industrial complex

Well, we already know.

Ironically, both Presidents faced major financial crises, so both had to open up the spigots. Not much choice there.

The obvious difference is that the Trumpsters are the people who pretend to take Reagan's "government is the problem" as gospel.

Government caused this shit by killing jobs in the name of public safety (Ben Franklin's quote comes to mind). Now Government is offering the "solution" by sending us further off the bankruptcy cliff.

It happens every fucking time!!!

To Government--the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.

Another obvious difference is Obama didn't cause the mess he was handed. The bush boy and republicans did.

Trump didn't cause the virus. He caused the level death, suffering and economic collapse.

If he had not ignored the warnings, if he had taken the proper steps to prevent the spread, if he had taken the steps to make sure there was enough PPE and medical equipment, if he had not encouraged people to rebel against the shutdown, if he had not lied through his teeth about the virus , and so many other bad choices he made, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now.

trump and his republican cohorts caused the financial problems we're facing now and will in the next year or two. He is making it worse by allowing those who don't need the financial help to get the help thus forcing those who actually need it to not get it. Resulting in workers not having proper job security after the virus and people go back to work. Or businesses failing.

Obama cleaned up the mess. He's not responsible for what the bush boy and republicans did. He is responsible for how he handled the mess he was forced to clean up.

trump and republicans have caused the mess he and the rest of the nation are in now.

Like history shows, it will take another democrat to clean the mess up.

People better be prepared for taxes to increase both at the federal and state level. That is IF politicians are responsible. If they aren't, the financial mess will only continue and get worse.

I always found one of the more maddening, unfounded criticisms of Obama by GOPer's (now POTer's) to be about the debt accumulated during his presidency. It was typically done in such a way as to use the raw numbers to imply Obama was a profligate and reckless spender of tax payer money. What those accusations lacked was context. The context being Obama inherited an economy in free fall. Losing 600K jobs a month, credit markets nearly frozen, a housing market that had crashed, and the impact of the Great Bush Recession being felt around the world. Essentially, he was blamed for a calamity not of his making. Then he was blamed for a stubbornly sluggish recovery to due systemically slow growth (that still persists), the depth of the recession, the enduring effect on the rest of the world, and the Repub's sabotage.

Fast forward to Capt. Clorox's presidency. Before doing so let's stipulate we won't focus on the Grifter-in-Chief's budget busting tax cut that had the country headed for a $1T+ deficit before COVID landed on our shores.

Let's also stipulate we won't discuss President Sunshine's culpability for the severity of COVID's spread in the US and the damage done to the economy as a result.

Instead, let's just focus on this. "The federal budget deficit is projected to be $3.7 trillion."

So......I'm just wondering out loud how Trumpleheads would react if Dems used the $3.7T number, without context as GOPer's did, to make accusations like, "the King of Debt is responsible for smashing the record for the largest budget deficit in a single year by over $2T?"

Doesn't seem fair to you does it? Remember that the next time you make accusations about Obama's deficits.
Thing is Donnie spends like O did. You love O and hate Don, yet they are similar.

You shouldn't accuse others of hypocrisy, when you are guilty of it.

You Trumpettes really don't burden yourself with the facts.

So.............Trumpleheads have reacted the way I thought they would.

All this talk about Obama and deficit spending is a bunch of garbage.

He started with 1.413 trillion in deficit that the bush boy and republicans created.

He ended with 585 billion in 2016.

There was only two years of Obama's presidency that he added to the deficit and that was 2011 and 2016. When he left office the slashed the new historic height in deficit the bush boy left in half. All six of the other years Obama decreased the deficit:

By contrast, trump, like every republican president before him, increased the deficit every year and to historic heights since he's been president.

Yes, yes your hypocrisy is in fact stupid.....You only give a shit about the overspending when republicans are doing it.

So we should let other countries push us around? Others notice when we drop bombs on our enemies, they don't want to become our enemy because they don't want to be bombed.

The only time either side complains about the debt is when they are not the one running it up. Have no doubt when we get back into full Presidential campaign mode debt will be one of the lefts main talking points just like it was for the Republicans under Obama.

Another thread where the wingnuts don't want to answer an inconvenient question.

There is nothing good about debt.

Period.

GWB was a moron. He had almost no debt when he took office.

He and his drunken sailor republican congress spent the shit out of things on the "War on terror" and we've been fucked ever since.

Obama takes over and presides over a very sluggish recovery. This thanks in part to his moronic congress. Only a GOP house gave business enough confidence to move forward.

We overcommit and we overspend.

Most of our outlays are already built in (S.S. and Medicare).

We won't elect congressman to stop this shit.

Now the fuckers on the left who put people like AOC in office who seemingly have no clue about how this works are not helping things any.

Trump should not have cut taxes the way he did without cutting spending.

Who won't let us cut spending ?

So the debt is not a real issue?

Remember that when Moscow Mitch or whoever is left in the Trump Party starts trying to take money from middle class and poor folks because the virus cost so much

Are you going to quote somebody so we have some context as to what you are blathering about ?

BTW: It's well past Friday and S.D. is well below 50.

GWB was a moron. He had almost no debt when he took office.

I think W was a very bad president so I don't want you to interpret what I say as defending him. However what is your definition of 'almost no debt'? Our national debt was certainly lower back then but over 3 trillion is hardly anything close to almost no debt.

Of course with Trump before COVID we were heading towards trillion dollar deficits. Those tax cuts really kind of fucked us over now, huh?
