Now that Ailes, Putin, and Trump have broken the U.S., can it be fixed?

The opposite is true. Thanks for proving my point.
Save it by causing divisiveness, by running up the debt, by trying to take health insurance away from 20M people, by diminishing our standing in the world, by betraying allies, by constantly lying about everything, by bringing corrupt officials in to his admin, by tearing down our bedrock institutions, by profiting from holding his office, through nepotism, by destroying the integrity of his office, etc.?
America's Founding Fathers disagree with you.
Really? In what way? Have you heard from them lately?

II think the OP's argument is that we would not argue if their was only one side. If we could ban or eradicate differing opinions, then we would get along swimmingly. Isn't that what California has done? How is that working out for them?
I'm all for differing opinions in terms of, for example, how to address climate change. That Repubs don't accept the overwhelming scientific consensus, backed by empirical data of it, is an enormous problem.

The climate giveth and the climate taketh away.
Climate trends occur over such long spans of time that egotistical man falsely believes he can control it.
It's true there are natural cycles effecting climate. The man-made effect of burning fossil fuels, thereby putting millions of tons of greenhouse gases in to the atmosphere, is not a natural cycle.

Read some history. Who did the Founding Fathers allow to vote. They knew America would become vulnerable if we let the dregs of society vote. In hindsight it's obvious why women should never have been allowed to vote.

Former Trump aides say Vladimir Putin convinced the president that Ukraine tried to sabotage his 2016 victory - contradicting US spy agencies who say it was Moscow that meddled in the election
Former Trump aides say Vladimir Putin convinced president Ukraine tried to sabotage his 2016 victory | Daily Mail Online

"President Trump was convinced by Russia’s Vladimir Putin that Ukraine tried to stop his election in 2016 even though his own intelligence agencies told him there was no evidence to support the claim, according to a new report.

The Russian leader reportedly persuaded Trump that it was Ukraine which meddled in the election during a July 2017 meeting in Hamburg, Germany.

One former senior White House official told The Washington Post that Trump repeated to aides that he knew Ukraine was guilty because ‘Putin told me.’"

Stephanie Grisham spent more than 5 months appearing exclusively in pro-Trump media -- until impeachment

"Since starting her job on July 1, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham has given zero briefings and amassed a five-month-plus streak of appearing exclusively in pro-Trump media outlets like Fox News. It wasn’t until the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump on December 18 that Grisham finally gave on-camera interviews to any mainstream media outlets."

Russian Disinformation Distorted Reality in Ukraine. Americans Should Take Note.

"As the 2020 U.S. presidential election approaches, pundits in the United States are naturally looking back to 2016 in an effort to predict just what form Russian interference will take this time around—especially after former special counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony on Capitol Hill last month, during which he warned, “They’re doing it as we sit here.” To understand the threat, Americans would do well to look at previous Russian disinformation campaigns. To gain a fuller picture of just what Russian interference could look like in 2020, it is necessary to look back at the Kremlin’s hybrid war in UkraineTo gain a fuller picture of just what Russian interference could look like in 2020, it is necessary to look back at the Kremlin’s hybrid war in Ukraine from 2014 to 2016."

The only thing Americans seem to agree on these days is they disagree about virtually everything political. I'm not to saying the origin for this disagreement doesn't go back years, it does. The radicalization of the GOP can be traced to the rise of conservative talk radio in the 80's, a consequence of Reagan's repeal of the Fairness Doctrine.
Reagan's Veto Kills Fairness Doctrine Bill
Since that time news media in all forms has become more polarized, reflecting the personal politics of the populace.

So, here we are. Science is rejected, facts are claimed to be subjective, inveterate liars have credibility, and unflattering news coverage is dismissed as fake.

The salient question is...............can this circumstance be fixed? Can we return to a time when we can rationally discuss the solutions to our problems without getting bogged down in arguments about the nature of those problems.

I am not optimistic.
This would be the spy agencies shown to be lying bastards of the Deep State?

Putin Thanks Trump for Intel That Lead to Arrests of Two People Planning Terrorist Attacks in Russia on New Years Eve

I'm not sure just what in the hell politicians and their crooked families like the Biden's the Kerry's and the Pelosi's are doing in Ukraine, but it looks like a bunch of US crooks up to no good.

And the war mongers sure want the US and Russia at each other's throats.

Good for Trump warning them so they could prevent terrorists from slaughtering the innocent.
