You are entitled to:
Vote (if you are old enough and are registered),
Buy and own property,
Free K-12 public education,
Travel anywhere you want within the U.S. and its territories,
Enter into contracts,
Articulate your opinions without interference,
Your own "privacy" (from Government intrusion),
Government benefits (e.g., unemployment compensation) if you meet the criteria,
Exercise your religion (or no religion at all) without interference,
Own and carry firearms (generally),
A lawyer, if you need one in a criminal case and can't afford one,
Remain silent when questioned by government authorities,
Get married (except to your parent, child, sibling, or domestic pets),
Fair and reasonable consideration for government jobs and programs,
and some other stuff I haven't thought of.

You are NOT entitled to:
A job of any kind,
A "living wage,"
A promotion or an "atta boy" every three months while you are employed,
A trophy when you don't win,
A job that you find interesting and fulfilling,
A "free" college education (even if paid for by parents),
Be let out of any contract that you signed (e.g., a student loan application), absent fraud on the part of the other party,
Spring or summer break,
A cell phone, paid for by someone else (including a parent),
Free Internet access,
Free cable TV,
Room & board after age 18,
Free healthcare for life,
Free birth control,
Be free from discomfort or anxiety,
Tell anyone else to STFU, even if they are really, really, WRONG.

You are REQUIRED to:
Pay taxes,
Be available for military service, of indefinite term, if Congress so decides,
Obey the law,
Respect OTHER PEOPLES' rights (see above),
Respect OTHER PEOPLES' stuff,
Respect OTHER PEOPLES' opinions.

Got it?

What we ‘got’ is this is the product of an ignorant, ridiculous rightwing hack.

No one advocates that anyone is ‘entitled’ to ‘free’ internet access or cable TV – the thread premise fails as a classic straw man fallacy.

It's too late.

If you want them to believe this, you'll have work extremely hard to change their minds.

They need "safe spaces" now. Think about that, and how it pertains to your post.
.

I'm addressing the generation that:

...thinks they need "safe spaces" on college campuses, where no one will say anything that makes them uncomfortable,

...keeps asking the Presidential candidates what they are going to "do" about their mountainous student loans,

...quits their jobs after 6 months because nobody made them feel needed,

...loves the Democrats for keeping them on their parents insurance until they're 26 years old,

...thinks that a new military draft would be "unconstitutional,"

...supports Bernie Sanders because he's so like them,

...puts (their parents') money in the tip jar at Starbuck's, and

...thinks it's outrageous that some insurance policies don't cover BC pills.

"Nobody" expects free internet access paid for by "government" (which doesn't pay for anything, actually)? You need to get out more.

I doubt there is a better example of a know-nothing liberal hack on this message board.

You obviously have little human contact or you should know that most of those on the "You are not entitled" to list happen to be demanded regularly by the liberal cry-baby generation.

You are entitled to

1) walk off your current job at any time without notice to start a better job
2) you owe your current employer no loyalty whatsoever
3) you are entitled to educate and train yourself so you are a person sought after, and use these skills AGAINST your employer
4) you are allowed to stay on your parents insurance until 26 because it makes perfect sense

1) walking off the job without notice is the act of an immature, stupid twit. You are not legally obliged to give notice, but it is ignorant to your employer and possibly co-workers. It falls under the heading of "burning bridges." Mature people recognize that such an act reflects poorly on one's character, and could bite you in the ass at a later time.

2) To the person or entity that pays you, you owe an obligation of confidentiality, loyalty, honesty, candor, diligence, care, and punctuality. Again, these are manifestations of character.

3) Possibly...After you have left the employer's employ.

4) Last time I checked, today's youth wishes to be identified and treated as an "adult" at age 18.An adult strives to be financially emancipated at the earliest practicable time. Being on one's parents' insurance implies that one remains DEPENDENT. Logical for a child. Anyone who remains a dependent until 26 years old is a total worthless twit.

No worker is a slave to their employer. A worker owes the employer a solid days work and showing up on time and working productively. HOWEVER, after that, a worker is free to leave the split second a better job offer is accepted. Loyalty has no part in it. A good worker is always looking for a better job and the employer should expect their best workers to leave immediately if they are presented something better. Its all about simple survival, loyalty is and rightfully so should be out the door. A good worker let's his employer know he/she is ready to leave at any time..during, not after, his/her current employer. Burning g bridges is an essential and important part of our system. Our system necessitates an important conflict between worker and employer.

Loyalty is a matter of character, which someone apparently lacks...
