Commentary...Being 65 points down can be disheartening. It seems that members of the DeSantis campaign are focusing their frustration at being trounced inwardly upon one another.

"Jeff Roe, chief strategist for "Never Back Down" — the super PAC backing the presidential run of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — resigned from the group on Saturday night.

Roe is the highest profile staffer to leave the PAC in recent weeks, after several top officials were fired following the arrival of the PAC's new chairman, Scott Wagner.

Roe, a seasoned GOP operative who was the architect of the PAC's ground game operation in Iowa for DeSantis, announced his departure after a Washington Post story published Saturday contained a statement from Wagner that was critical of some former employees."

From a different AP story...

"He announced his departure on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, hours after The Washington Post published a story focused on internal disputes and suspicions between Never Back Down, the campaign, and other DeSantis allies that included accusations of “mismanagement and conduct issues, including numerous unauthorized leaks containing false information.”

“I can’t believe it ended this way,” Roe wrote on X, sharing a statement in which he said he “cannot in good conscience stay affiliated with Never Back Down given the statements” in the story, which he said were false."

Going to attempt to dig up the X post from Roe.

I said that from the beginning.

It was foolish to jump into this race.

Whether Trump won or lost, DeSantis was a shoe-in for 2028.

I don't know what he was thinking.

his wife made him run - she wants to be the 'next jackie O '
That's possible. Don't know much about her.

I think the establishment Republicans convinced him they would succeed in destroying Trump, leaving the nomination wide open.

We see how that turned out.

Desantis: Never Back Down => Nationally Beat Down. Desantis is the biggest flame out in the history of politics. He has one of the lowest approval ratings of any governor in the nation. It's been a joy watching him ruin his name even with the side effects of signing bills that are almost all thrown out by the courts. Lol. His life will be utterly inconsequential.

Usually “Seasoned GOP Operative” is code speak for “deep state plant”. I figured you guys would be happy about this.

Interesting article that set the ball rolling on Roe's departure.

It is from WaPo...but someone on X was nice enough to archive it...

Boy...they are really pushing the envelope on PAC - Campaign coordination.

By outsourcing the bulk of their campaign to the PAC, they could not only use the 82 million dollars left over from DeSantis' gubernatorial campaign...but also receive unlimited donations from never Trumpers.

Doesn't seem to have worked very well though...although I can't understand why. It SHOULD have worked. But didn't.

Ronda Fascist was never going to be president.

Today I'd agree that he will never be president.

There was a time he had the best chance of anyone in 2028.

Poor decisions robbed him of that opportunity.
His total lack of anything resembling a personality doomed him from the start.

The fascism didn't help either.
