Not that it matters, but the DeSantis Campaign is imploding...

Commentary...Being 65 points down can be disheartening. It seems that members of the DeSantis campaign are focusing their frustration at being trounced inwardly upon one another.

"Jeff Roe, chief strategist for "Never Back Down" — the super PAC backing the presidential run of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — resigned from the group on Saturday night.

Roe is the highest profile staffer to leave the PAC in recent weeks, after several top officials were fired following the arrival of the PAC's new chairman, Scott Wagner.

Roe, a seasoned GOP operative who was the architect of the PAC's ground game operation in Iowa for DeSantis, announced his departure after a Washington Post story published Saturday contained a statement from Wagner that was critical of some former employees."

DeSantis is a good Governor but not a good campaigner.

I'm sure that Gov. DeSantis knew it was risky business deciding to primary President Trump when he entered the race. You have to offer a real good reason to convince party officials to switch horses in mid stream and dumping The Donald.

If he runs in '28 he'd be my first choice

Crime in Florida has dropped in half as governor

His campaign imploded the moment he stopped being himself and started listening to the consultant/marketing flakes.

Was only a matter of time from that point on.

The DeSantis Campaign is not supposed to coordinate with the PAC as I recall campaign rules. Maybe Roe wasn't really helping DeSantis. This close to the Iowa Caucus, it's probably too late for new management to change the trajectory.

DeSantis was strong on culture wars issues, but went limp once he announced his run for President. I don't know if his Jewish handlers told him to stop interfering with their plans or he let his campaign be taken over by marketing professionals.

They were definately walking a razors edge to stay in compliance...if they managed.

President Trump has a legion of small donors fueling his campaign. Ron couldn't compete with that...so he outsourced his campaign to a PAC that could take unlimited donations from a relatively few super donors to make up the difference.

It's shady...but we all have a pretty good notion of who is behind the a DeSantis Presidential push. They're as shady as you get.

Plus he could free that $90 million of left over cash from his gubernatorial campaign...so that was a bonus.

This is an archived Washington Post article that explains the structure of the relationship between DeSantis' Official campaign and the Roe led Never Back Down PAC.
