Not sure why Peyton Manning is so f*cking great when he

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and they were talking about Brady and mannings stats. Brady is never going to catch manning in yards or TD's. I know manning has more seasons but still, no one is ever going to catch manning. I don't care that he lost 2 Super Bowls. Brady lost 2 too. If the only thing Brady has over him is 2 more rings, that's not enough for me. The one edge I'll give Brady is he has typically done more with less, over manning who's usually always had multiple offensive weapons around him

Brady was not ONE and DONE 9 times in the playoffs either

When Brady went down for the season the Patriots went 11-5.

When Manning went down for the season the Colts went 2-14.

Who was surrounded by better players?

Debate Over, Good Night

Thank you for acknowledging that I kicked your ass!

I think everyone knows Peyton was surrounded by better players. Just because the patriots still won without Brady doesn't mean correlation meant causation. On paper it's CLEAR manning had better talent around him. Brady never even had a TD threat WR his entire career besides Moss. Peyton and Harrison are still to this day the number 1 WR/QB scoring duo and then Peyton and Wayne are number 4 on the list as well. Patriots and colts ran 2 completely different offenses. Belichik' offense is designed to plug anyone in and still produce. They didn't run a big play offense like the colts. So obviously you couldn't plug someone else into the colts offense and expect huge passing TD plays. The patriots just dink and dunk their way to the end zone. The odds are better a different QB would still be effective when he only has to throw a 5 yard slash to welker and what not

I find it amusing that a drama queen working as a civil servant, who cannot pay his bills on time, can't control his emotions, and goes ballistic at trivial nonsense, has the audacity to try and judge a man who played 18 years as a QB in the NFL, owns sevral records, and won 2 Super Bowls.

Keep your cable on for a whole year and we MIGHT let you judge someone playing semi-pro ball.

Offensively I would agree, defensively I would disagree.

He won 1 SB. The last SB was a gift

Dan Marino won zero. Does that make him any less of a legendary player? Not hardly.

Danny was on a whole different level

Agreed albeit a level slightly lower than Peyton.

A gift? He stayed on the field, despite being old and banged up. The first time you got sacked you would be crying for weeks. Manning got up and kept his team motivated and focused.

And his stats for his last Super Bowl are very similar to Elway's stats in 1998.

So Marino had good receivers, why couldn't he win a Super Bowl? How many times was he one or done or missed the playoffs entirely? His passer rating was only over 100 one season.

Manning is a top five all time, I'm not sure if Marino is.

Montana had by far the best team around him -
Brady had a cheating coaching staff around him and knew it and always in the leagues weakest division afc east -
Manning and Elway had some shitty teams around them and most of the time second rate defenses and still managed to win more than not, in always tough divisions they made their teams better -

Was he the 1st QB to win Superbowls with different teams?

0 TD passes and 1 int

Real impressive

Doesn't matter, he didn't contribute anything to the 2nd sb ring

Still he had an overall impressive career.
Not high on my priority list of things to be concerned about....

I didn't say they were impressive. Just that they were similar to Elway's.

Except for helping to get them there and being on the winning team.

Why do you have such a hatred for Manning? Did he make Romo look even worse than he is?

was ONE and DONE a total of 8 times as a starting QB in the playoffs

Has a 14-13 playoff record and 38 TD and 27 interceptions

3 TD and 5 Int in 4 Superbowl games

These are the stats ESPN won't tell you.

BTW: Tom Brady has a 19-9 postseason record and 56 TD passes and 27 int's in the postseason and was only ONE and DONE a total 2 times in the playoffs

In spite of two SB wins, Mannings performance in the playoffs will keep him from being considered one of the all time greats. He will be lumped with Dan Marino and Dan Fouts as great statistical QBs who failed to get it done in big games

There are not many career highlights for Peyton where he led his team to a late victory in the playoffs

This is so silly.. but then again, this is fbj......

Grew up watching Joe Montana and will say when it came to the playoffs and winning late games he was a master behind center, but he had Jerry Rice and that WR group along with a great offensive line and Roger Craig as his RB...

Now with that written Manning was and is a great QB, and will be remember for his records that may never fall.

He was better than Dan Marino in my opinion and even better than Brett Favre but when it come to the Playoffs and Super Bowl he will be ranked behind Montana, Bradshaw and Brady...

One player that is never mentioned as one of the greats is Warren Moon but if someone look at his days as a Canadian Football Player and combine that with his NFL days then he had a very impressive career, but still not a Manning career...
