was ONE and DONE a total of 8 times as a starting QB in the playoffs

Has a 14-13 playoff record and 38 TD and 27 interceptions

3 TD and 5 Int in 4 Superbowl games

These are the stats ESPN won't tell you.

BTW: Tom Brady has a 19-9 postseason record and 56 TD passes and 27 int's in the postseason and was only ONE and DONE a total 2 times in the playoffs

Offense wins games, defense wins championships. The Colts had average or below defenses most of Manning's career. The Patriots always had good defenses when they won Super Bowls.

He is the only player to win 2 Super Bowls with 2 different teams. He has been the AP NFL MVP 5 times. He is the NFL all time leader for touchdown passes. He is the NFL all time leader for passing yards. And the NFL all time leader for wins. He went to the Pro Bowl 14 out of 18 years.

Yeah, why would anyone think he is so fucking great.

The 2009 defense wasn't exactly a bunch of slouches

Manning had more than his share of being lucky.

He was smart enough to know that his lucky streak couldn't last much longer.

So he decided to retire before it all came crashing down and he was exposed as just an average QB. .....

Ranked 8th better than normal but a lot of that was attributed to the offense getting big leads and it allowed the defense to play from the lead and not behind.

At 39 how many QB's with several neck surgeries have played well in the NFL?

That doesn't necessarily mean jack shit. There's been plenty of high powered offenses that weren't accompanied by high ranked defensive stats

It's well beyond his time as a football player for anything like that to become "exposed". He's an old man now. The only thing exposed now is that he just doesn't have it in him to get the ball downfield anymore

You are right, but it is a tougher road to the ring when you don't have a great defense, you need at least an adequate defense to challenge.

I'm just making the point that it was a super bowl Peyton should've won. I'm a Peyton fan, I like a QB that can manage the game at the line the way he could. Anything he may have ever lacked physically he made up for mentally. He didn't have to run around like an idiot trying to invent yardage with his legs just to save a broken play. But 2009 he should've won. I'm putting that one on him.

With that I agree.

We all agree goat isn't determined by rings but Payton sure made a case for himself by going to 4 superbowls and winning 2. Add that to all his regular season records.

But Brady had the best career.

Both blessed.

Very much tougher. And in a championship system, a great defense will beat a great offense.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and they were talking about Brady and mannings stats. Brady is never going to catch manning in yards or TD's. I know manning has more seasons but still, no one is ever going to catch manning. I don't care that he lost 2 Super Bowls. Brady lost 2 too. If the only thing Brady has over him is 2 more rings, that's not enough for me. The one edge I'll give Brady is he has typically done more with less, over manning who's usually always had multiple offensive weapons around him

Brady was not ONE and DONE 9 times in the playoffs either

When Brady went down for the season the Patriots went 11-5.

When Manning went down for the season the Colts went 2-14.

Who was surrounded by better players?
