Well, a ways to go until November. But the minions of the GOP have some problem areas.

Putin. The GOP actually cheered Putin, and stated that they wished we had a strongman like that. So, Putin backs down, he doesn't look like a strongman, and the President looks wise for a policy that acheives his goals without war. Putin continues to agress the small nations around Russia, and people have to wonder about an American Political Party that would approve of that kind of aggression.

Global Warming. The GOP has come out flatly denying the scientific basis and observantions of the scientists studying this. An El Nino appears to be in the future for the end of this summer. If it has a major affect in the US, this could be equivelent to the economic meltdown that started in October of 2008, after Bush and McCain stated that the economy was strong and there were no problems.

And, of course, the unknowns that can occur between now and then, and favor either party. Going to be an interesting election.
