Only a dumb-fck partisan POS shit would blame the President for a bipartisan bill that originated in the Democratic controlled House.
You and I know that the republicon version of the bill give the vast majority of the money to trump’s corporate minuns. The Democrats cut some of that pork out but still trumpies are happy vultures once again

WASHINGTON – Millions of Americans who expect to receive a $1,200 stimulus check from the federal government could start to see the payouts arriving as early as next week.

But many Americans won’t get a check at all.

Not everyone qualifies for one of the payments, which will be distributed under a new federal law that aims to give Americans a quick cash infusion and help the economy recover from the devastation wreaked by the coronavirus pandemic.

If they are going to treat it like income at the end of the year, I wish they'd keep it. Imagine the people on Social Security, SSI, or SSDI. If those checks are their only source of income, they are exempt from filing a tax return. So, if they get a stimulus check and it's counted as income, then they will be taxed on their yearly Social Security check as if it were a regular job... and they have not paid into the system. So, April 15 of next year they might be taxed on all that money and owe much more than $1200. I've asked around and nobody has an answer to that scenario. My contacts in political circles are not in their offices... but, just saying. I don't believe there's such a thing as a free lunch and since I cannot find a straight answer, I'm highly skeptical of this "free money."

The stimulus money is not going to be taxed.

A person's Social Security income is not taxed if it is their only source of income. If the IRS deems the stimulus money to be taxable income, the amount for that year would exceed the amount of the stimulus check

Man, that adds up to what after they take the supplemental plan cost off the top - 20 grand a year maybe? That's poverty level. Good thing it's not taxed!

I don't think that any Socialist Security should be taxed. I don't have a supplemental plan. So, even if you make 20 grand and then the government taxes it, the stimulus check would not cover the tax. IF the stimulus is counted as outside income, then all your Socialist Security is taxed - and that stimulus check won't cover the tax for that year. Don't spend it until you find out what the downside is. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

I believe I'll at least quality for the lesser amount ($600?) I'll cash it, but since I don't need it plan on leaving some nice tips for my favorite waitresses, waiters, bartenders, barber, etc. Someone had another nice idea (remind me if you're out there please). Suggested that next time you're at the grocery store and see Mom dragging poorly clothed kids around or a senior carefully looking at prices, wait until they check out and pay for their groceries.

Trump’s charitable giving has now become a campaign issue, largely due to a series of Post articles written by David Fahrenthold and his colleagues. Back in April, Fahrenthold and Rosalind S. Helderman reported that they couldn’t find a single cash donation to charity that Trump personally had made over the previous five years.
Trump and the Truth: His Charitable Giving

In years past, The Washington Post found, Trump had often promised to give the proceeds of various business ventures — a book, a TV show, and Trump University — to charity. But, often, he paid off those pledges with money from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, a charity filled with other people's money. Or, in some cases, Trump did not fulfill the pledges at all: none of the $5 million he earned from Trump University was actually given to charity.

Then, last year, Trump made a bold promise to give $1 million of his own money to veterans' causes, along with $5 million he'd raised from other donors during a telethon-style fundraiser in late January, just before the Iowa caucuses. Months later, Trump's then-campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, told The Washington Post that Trump had given the money away — but that the details of his gift were secret.

That was false. At the time Lewandowski said that, the money was still in Trump's pocket.

It’s a minor Washington tradition that unused funds from presidential inauguration events are donated to charity. But nearly eight months after Donald Trump’s swearing-in celebration, no donations have been made from its record-breaking inaugural fund, and where the money went is mysterious.
The Trump Inaugural Committee Promised Charity Donations — So Where Are They?

Which will be more than the stimulus check. Now, that is what we need to know. Deposit the check and save some for that extra cost in taxes.

Trump needs to visit the Statue of Liberty

STATUE OF LIBERTY
“Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free/The wretched refuse of your teeming shore/Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me/I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.

In 1892, the U.S. government opened a federal immigration station on Ellis Island, located near Bedloe’s Island in Upper New York Bay. Between 1892 and 1954, some 12 million immigrants were processed on Ellis Island before receiving permission to enter the United States. From 1900-14, during the peak years of its operation, some 5,000 to 10,000 people passed through every day.

France gave the Statue Of Liberty to the US as a gift just after the civil war

:)-
US immigration law isn’t dictated by an inscription on a monument.

The mass immigration that happened in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were filling a void of badly needed labor and they came mainly from Europe. This does not mean we are obligated to keep mass immigration at all times, especially from shit hole countries from which the people have no intentions of assimilating into American culture.

This is typical of Dopey Donald Trump and his GOP slimeball lawmakers who ensure Trump associates get first grab at the money pile.

Dopey Donald Trump is imposing the law of the jungle.

Not everyone is getting a $1,200 coronavirus stimulus check. Here's who will be left out.

So, even if you make 20 grand and then the government taxes it, the stimulus check would not cover the tax.

You're mistaken.

How much federal tax is owed on $18000 - which is the neighborhood that people drawing Socialist Security and stimulus check is?

How much federal tax is owed on $18000

The same that is owed on $18000 plus the untaxed stimulus.

Which will be more than the stimulus check. Now, that is what we need to know. Deposit the check and save some for that extra cost in taxes.

Which will be more than the stimulus check.

Whatever tax you're paying will not be changed by the stimulus check.

Deposit the check and save some for that extra cost in taxes.

Extra cost is $0

Red-hatters, mad-hatters, and Trumpies should forgo the money and request a reality check instead.

Again, we have told you over and over by many posters, the stimulus will NOT be taxed. Are you playing dumb or are you?

I guess I'm dumb. The stimulus is NOT the same same as the Socialist Security payments you receive. You got a problem with that???

The $1200 IS NOT taxed. It is a tax credit, given in advance. so, whether it is SSI or earned income, you are not taxed on a prepaid tax credit.

I'm not asking about whether or not the $1200 is taxed. THAT IS IRRELEVANT.

If you draw Socialist Security and that is your only source of income it is not taxable. You don't even have to file an income tax return

IF, OTOH, you get Socialist Security via direct deposit AND the $1200 the dynamics change. You got paid OTHER THAN your Socialist Security income. So, the $1200 is not taxed; however, there is still the fact that you have a year's income from the Socialist Security that was received AND you got money other than Socialist Security. The stimulus money is income other than Socialist Security. The stimulus money is tax free. Nobody has said, that I have found, whether you may now owe income tax on your Socialist Security since it was NOT your only source of income for the year. The stimulus money and Socialist Security are two different things. Tax credits are irrelevant when you don't file income taxes.
