Bush Republicanism Must Go Away - American Thinker

Reagan's biggest mistake was the future Bush 41.

It's sick and abusive. Republican voters must stop pretending the Brahmin Class Republicans who spend more time bashing their own party's faithful than fighting the evil authoritarianism in full bloom on the other side are anything other than double-agents trying to demoralize and fatigue the only Americans principled enough to resist.

My goodness, George, the Marxists have corrupted everything from kindergarten to the military. They're suckling the little ones on a steady diet of "systemic racism" and "white supremacy" while pushing "woke" trans troops as the future standard for American combat forces. The Supreme Court is too contemptibly craven and compromised by the political left to protect Americans from the harms of lawless "sanctuary cities," the unconstitutional mandates of municipal tyrants, or the repercussions of fraudulent elections. The Federal Reserve has stolen Americans' savings and entered into a suicide pact with the Treasury Department to spend the nation into financial collapse on "the road to serfdom." And most of the Republican Party's top political consultants and conservative "intellectuals" for the past thirty years have "come out of the closet" to reveal — surprise, surprise! — that they've been, not just Democrats, but actual authoritarian socialists all along.

I've been saying that since Bush 41.

We're almost 30 year later and the dweebs at American Thinker are just figuring this out?
Looks that way. In 1976 I was supporting Reagan against Gerald Ford in the GOP primaries. Reagan in an attempt to get Pennsylvania delegate votes at the convention picked Pa Senator Richard Schweiker for his running mate. Schweiker was a political moderate but was pro life and pro second amendment. I was surprised at the move, but after thinking about it I thought it was a good idea. In 1980 I was hoping RR would run with Schweiker again, but RR I guess had to mollify the party establishment and picked Bush which I thought was a mistake at the time and history proved me correct.

It was no secret that Reagan detested Bush.

It was obvious to me in '86 that Bush was the driver of Iran-Contra, and Reagan was taking the fall like the good little soldier.....Yet I was somehow dopey enough to believe that Bush 'in '88 was going to be Reagan's 3rd term.

wow

I did not believe it. At first I was supporting Sen Paul Laxalt's brief campaign and then Jack Kemp after that. And yes most of the Iran Contra business was committed by Bush loyalists.

At least in the GOP there is more than 1 opinion, unlike the demrats.

I think it's time to weight the presidential primaries in favor of states that actual go Republican.

Every four years a milquetoast RINO Republican like Mitt or McCain wins the Maryland, Massachusetts and New York primary...and we get a dumb fuck no one in a red state actually wants.

Trump was the exception...being from the northeast...he got those votes too. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Want to make things better?

The more times in a row your state has voted to give it's electors to the Republican candidate...the earlier your state gets to have it's primary.

Problem solved...

I've been saying that since Bush 41.

And Reagan really wasn't all that great. it's just that every other president for a century+, save Calvin Coolidge, sucked donkey anus. All the others made Reagan look good.
