NFL WEEK 16 PICKS

Ravens over Colts --- Ravens shouldn't have any trouble. Check
Vikes over Pukers --- They put Rogers on IR for the last 2 games now that they are out of it. Check. Merry Christmas, Pukers!
Saints over Falcons --- Falcons kind of struggling to win. Saints at home. Check.
Pats over Bills --- Pats on cruise control. Check.
Da Bearsus over Brownies --- Probably the last realistic chance for the Browns to win a game this season. Check.
Broncos over Skins --- Two teams not going anywhere. Broncos D one of the best. Wrong. Skins dominate.
Lions over Bengals --- Bengals horrid offense and mediocre defense not a combo for winning. Wrong. Lions, playing for their playoff lives, fold up like a cheap suit against a crappy team.
Chargers over Jets --- Chargers still have a ray of playoff hope. Check.
Rams over Titans --- Titans have to win for playoffs. Doubt they can beat the Rams though. Check.
Chefs over Fish --- Chefs may win division, but doubt they go anywhere in playoffs. Check.
Panthers over Succaneers --- Panthers looking very good all around. Check.
Jags over Whiners --- Jags are doing great. They may surprise in the playoffs too. Wrong. WTF happened to the Jags defense? 44 points?
Cards over Giants --- Cards at home. Check.
Cowpies over Seachix --- Think the Cowpies get Elliot back this week. Should be enough to get past Seachix depleted defense. Cowpies at home. Wrong. Seachix stay alive in the playoff hunt. Cowpies eliminated.
Steelers over Texassans --- Steelers should romp. Check.
Iggles over Raiduz --- Hoping for the Raiders to upset, but don't realistically see it happening. Check.

12-4 this week. One week to go. Go Vikes!

13-3 for me this week. Vikings are definitely looking like a SB contender this year.
I've been a Vikings fan since the early 70's. I've seen 3 of the 4 SB losses, the Hail Mary, the missed kick in '98, the shutout in 2000, and the bounty bowl of '09. I haven't felt this way about the Vikings since the 70's. The '98 team was offensive lightning in a bottle, but the defense wasn't all that good. The year they sold their soul for Favre, I knew in my gut that it would cost us in the end. This year, they have such good balance. Great defense, but without what you'd consider superstars. Good offense, but not spectacular. They kind of remind me of the early 70's Miami Dolphins and their no-name defense and ball control offense. It really looks like the stars are finally aligning in favor of the Vikes for once. There isn't any team in the NFC that really worries me. Of course, as a long time fan, I know what it's like to be kicked in the nuts over and over by this team. I just have a different vibe about this year.

Not to be a troll, but I've been hearing that since the days of Fran Tarkenton! Sorry! Even that supremely good team with Cunningham going 15-1 in '98 found a way to blow it and not even make the big game! They're truly snake-bit going back decades! Lucky for me I'm from Chicago and won at least one Super Bowl with historically a great team still mused about and their awesome defense!  :dunno: :poke:

The one-and-done playoff format can take down the best of teams, and any team has a window of opportunity to reach the championship. The Vikings do have quite a few good young players, though, so they look like they could be good for at least a few years.

It's the Ed Thorpe curse that has haunted them since 1969, if you believe in that kind of thing. Ya, at least da Bearsus have that '85 team to look back on. Pity Ditka and Ryan didn't get along. If Buddy had stayed on, they probably would have won a couple more SB's.
