The Stanley Cup Playoffs

Sadly, the Wild were knocked out of the playoffs last night in their fifth game against Colorado in overtime.

My brother-in-law's team, the Flyers, have also been knocked out.

All I have left to cheer for are the Canadiens. I have a close friend from Montreal and that's his team.

:(
Watching the game they just disintegrated and blew a 3 point lead.
The Wild can be fast, but Colorado was way faster and dominated the second and third period
It was an exciting series thoough.

It's a sad, sad day when you have to cheer for the Habs. Even sadder if you're cheering for the Maple Leafs.

I hear you.

I have always found the people in Montreal to be some of the rudest people on Earth.

But I have made an exception for my friend. There are almost always exceptions to every rule.

Yeah, it was killing me all five games. The Wild would be blowing the Avalanche away and then would snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

It was so frustrating.

Now the Wolves are about to be eliminated by the Spurs.
In Minnesota we're getting pretty used to losing.
Vikings have contributed their fair share of that too.
Even the defending women's hockey champs, the MN Frost got eliminated last week.
Twins are not doing great either.

Sigh.

The Habs just won game 7 against the Sabres in overtime.

So long as the Golden Knights don't win the cup, my daughter and I will be happy.

Montreal crushing Carolina. Is it possible they win the Cup? I mean, what in the...
The Habs lost to Carolina on Saturday.

I have a bad feeling the Knights are going to win the Cup. They are 3-0 against the Avalanche.

The Knights winning the cup is my daughter's worst nightmare. She absolutely haaaaaaaates, the Knights.

The Knights came into the league as a recent expansion team and has had success with winning records and playoff runs and even a couple times in the finals and won a Cup. Very little suffering for the fans.

What the hell happened to the Avalanche? They completely CHOKED!

Got swept. Talk about pretenders, damn.

I did not follow it. Did they have injuries?

I never watched a game they are not broadcast where I’m on vacation but I did bet them to win the championship based on sports talk chatter but they were probably a bit overrated, or Vegas was underrated

I am not a big watcher of hockey, but enough to know that a goalie can catch fire; just like any pro athlete that has a good streak. A goalie on a good run run is probably more impactful than any other position in baseball, football, or basketball.

Hence, the argument against a having a bunch of NHL playoff teams holds water because a usually crappy team on a good run does not deserve playoffs. Hell, didn’t Las Vegas have a sub-.500 regular season?

I think they were below .500, not sure but I think I saw they were. One thing that teams like Vegas has is players on the roster who have been there, done that, won the Cup, not sure that anyone on Colorado has that experience. Same goes for whoever they will play next.

Road teams down 2 goals at any time in the opening game of the Finals were 0-55 until Vegas won last night after being down 0-2 to Carolina.

15th post
Did anyone see how Marner broke out of a slump and went off in the 2nd? A Hurricane puts it in the net for him and I think they said he got the goal, but who got the assist? Did the guy from Carolina get it for the goal credited to Marner? It went off his stick into the net. Marner went off then, had 4 points in just the 2nd.

Vegas is beating this team up.

Not a big fan of hockey, but I try to watch as much of the Stanley Cup Finals as I can find time to, and am so glad I watched last night. It had the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup history in 2nd period, and in the 3rd period, it had the fastest time three consecutive goals were scored by one team, when Carolina went from down 0-4 to being down 3-4 in only 39 seconds.

It went to double OT and the Canes would have been the first team in NHL history to win a Finals game being down 0-4 in the 3rd period. Vegas pulled it out on a fluke goal, off the wall and then richochet off the goalies skate.

The Hurricanes just took the cup on game 6 against the Golden Knights, 3-0. The last goal was on an empty net.

The Hurricanes' goalie, Brandon Bussi, was absolutely incredible. He has a great backstory.

Canes gets the cup after 20 years, Staal well deserved hardware

Bussi? undrafted, did not play all year and has awesome numbers

that's the real unsung hero

I thought the cane had a top goalie all year......got hurt?

thoughts?
