Newsom issued the order hours after he called for the cancellation of gatherings of 250 or more people through the end of March, marking the first time he has applied so-called social distancing practices to the entire state of California.

Is this even constitutional?

On the hotel order, what is the basis? With regards to medical facilities, I can see this for public hospitals, but private ones? Private outpatient clinics?

And if he closes meetings, shouldn't they be recorded by an outside auditor to comply with the spirit of the open meetings law?

My 37 yr old flower-child - a 10 yr resident of the San Fran Bay area - is moving to the Carolinas this spring, lowering my worrying significantly. I told her to leave her inner-child behind.

This is just to gin up hysteria. We don't know how many are sick because that's not released to the public. They tell us how many test positive but aren't sick. Last I heard it was 200. 4 people in hospice have died. He can't fill a hotel with these kinds of numbers. What he can do is make very serious useful declarations.

Why are gatherings cancelled through the end of March? Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm all closed until April. Schools closed until April. What's so important about April?

By April even democrats will be done with this crisis. The public will have seen how few are sick and the hysteria will not be able to be maintained. It will be over.
