New Zealand $150m naval vessel sinks with new Lesbian Captain in command.

Typical looney left nonsense. Cause a catastrophe from stupidity and inept ability, then call yourself a hero for surviving it.

Typical.right wing bigotry.

Blaming a catastrophe on the commanding officer’s sexual orientation.

Well I do actually....why the hell do we know anything about her sexual Identity? Red flag #1.

No, you just know about her sexual identity. You don’t know whether it was a factor in her selection.

And you can’t explain what that has to do with the incident at all.

So why do we know about it? I didn't say there was a definite connection only that there was a probable one. But once again why do we know about our sexual identity? Why is that even included? And I'm not buying that it's there to defame her.... It was something thrown out there long before.

Apparently it was ''human error.''

''...the direct cause of the grounding was determined to be a "series of human errors", with the ship’s autopilot not disengaged when it should have been.

Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Garin Golding said the crew did not realise the Manawanui had stayed in autopilot and, as a consequence, mistakenly believed its failure to respond to direction changes was the result of a thruster control failure.

"Having mistakenly assessed a thruster control failure, standard procedures should have prompted the ship’s crew to check that the ship was under manual control rather than in autopilot," Golding said.

"This check did not occur."

Staying on autopilot led the ship to barrel towards land until grounding and eventually stranding, the report said.''

In laymen's term somebody really fckd up

Well....merit based should ignore any other factors but talent and ability. However DEI thumbs the scale towards outliers. Ergo the selection process moves away from vital skills and produces less talented graduates who often get selected by identity politics.

your bigoted generalization is irrelevant. it is a reflection of you, and nothing else.

Reports regarding the aftermath...

''The vessel's sinking raised concerns about damage to the local environment, with many worried that leaking fuel could taint their food source.

''The ship was carrying around 950 tonnes of diesel and, earlier this month, local authorities said about 200,000 litres of fuel had leaked from the sunken wreckage...''

"There is obviously fuel coming out of the Manawanui," Navy Chief Rear Admiral Garin Golding said. "As [Defence Minister Judith Collins] mentioned, it's tracking away from the island."

But locals say it's not the case, and are now demanding answers, action, and compensation.''

Village high chief Tuia Pepae Pua told 1News he was alerted to local fishermen selling fish on the roadside yesterday which were coated in the oil.

"The fish we saw was all oil and I told the fishermen to take it back, don't sell it," he said.

Fisherman Pitoamoa Vaesata said the fish he caught last night has also been contaminated.''

You know about it because another bigot promoted it and jumped to the same conclusion you did.

How stupid. You give word salad but no explanation other than 'she's a lesbian.'

Go back and see his comments about DEI, for which he gave no foundation.

Nah, I don't care. I've more important matters other than taking direction from you
