The building out of the renewable base power in Australia, California, and Texas is accelerating as grid scale batteries are taking the place of peaker plants. In fact, the combination of residential and grid scale solar has led to negative electrical prices for some mid-day hours in Australia. And the price of the units has for the utility scale batteries has decreased by 21% in the last 12 months. No matter what the political shills for the fossil fuel industry do now, the future is clear. Shear economics dictated that wind and solar are the future.
Renewables aren't base power.

When they turn the real powerplants, coal and natural gas, off for fewer hours, and then turn them back on, does that increase costs anywhere?
Shear economics dictated that wind and solar are the future.
Get back to me when those economics cause power prices to decline, instead of increase whenever new green mandates and projects come online.
Ping me when Germany no longer pays triple what we pay in the US.
