New poll: Who do you blame for the Shutdown?

For many, I know that buy their health insurance in that market place, it is simply a place to get coverage, normally affordable on a corporate employee plan, but totally out of sight when not a part of a group insurance companies are looking to attract, as lucrative in the aggregate, such as mid to large corporations with thousands of employees. My son in-law (now deceased) got insurance through the Affordable Care Act, after the bottled gas company he drove for, dropped the company offering, forcing their employees to seek health insurance on the open market as individuals. He had little choice, as father of two kids, and himself a diabetic.

If it had been done right, it would have been an easy choice.

Runaway medical expenses are a problem, not otherwise addressed in Congress. I look at the Affordable Care Act as a stopgap measure at best, but certainly not one that will be addressed by the Republicans in power at the moment. Congress is very big on kicking the problem cans down the road, to be somebody else's political boondoggle.

No one is addressing it.

I hope this ugly shutown is over soon so that we Americans can move on without our daily lives.
What do you need the government to do that you can't do so you can move on with your life?

Seriously.

My life has not changed one bit. Other than the comedy this creates.

So what did Biden do to address your concerns?

While true, ill ask why we continue to support a bunch unable to do their jobs?

IF TRUMP AND THE GOP FIX OBAMACARE BY KEEPING THE SUBSIDY, WILL IT BE RENAMED TRUMPCARE?
Honest question, has the government ever fixed anything by pumping more money into it?

Face it, any propping up by the government leads ONLY to more propping up, it never stops.

Can you ever ask a question that is clear?

Biden is out of office so I don't know who you are referencing.

Health insurance is very expensive. I retired are 63 and had to pay for insurance until I reached Medicare age.
Is the answer turning ACA healthcare providers into utilities with regulated premiums instead of "for profit" corporations?

Honest question, is the country better with affordable health insurance or not?
Medicaid needs to be better regulated.
What happens if the ACA dies?

I have another thread suggesting that congress needs to negotiate "payfors" to keep the ACA subsidy, and to prevent those commercials of Republicans dumping granny over the cliff for the mid-terms.

Since it’s a republican majority congress lead by a republican president, don’t they kinda own it?
A simple majority won’t pass in the Senate. Do you not know how the Senate works?

Nope. That's the beauty of representative government. The minority still has the power to impede.

That's what the dems are doing. This CR has been approved 13 previous times. That means when Joey bribem was king, it got passed.

Thus it IS the Schumer shutdown.

He can stop it in a second if he wants to.

I hope he doesn't. I hope the shutdown continues for a year. Just imagine how much the government can be shrink!

There is very little change in personnel in Congress at election time, and those who are there now are those who were there in previous "shut downs". Therefore, the blame goes to those who continue to vote for incompetence, greed and kow-towing to lobbies by re-electing these miscreants.

Yes.

A simple majority to suspend the rules.

A simple majority to pass the CR.

Not a single DEM vote needed.
