Well, I have believed that most of what government is and does is 'beneath human contempt,' and that didn't start the day Trump was elected. I have believed this over most presidencies, starting mostly with Clinton but definitely continued throughout the Bush, Obama, Biden, and Trump presidencies.

Sure they can detain people for suspected federal crimes, two Americans have been killed in self defense, one tried to run over an officer, the other sadly decided to arm himself and then obstruct an arrest

Well, Pretti was allowed to do all of those things without being shot. So it's relatively safe to say that none of THOSE specific actions are why he was 'executed' (as you called it).
