New career at age 50-60

As I have said ..I am selling my franchise in 4 years
Any ideas of what my next career could be ??

Education- College only with major in history and minor in general science

Special Skills - Zero !!!

Work ethic - about average

People skills - about average

Business skills - I made top 5 in my franchise in 2 major cities ..well kind of ??

I am becoming concerned I may be screwed at age 50
What about part time weekend jobs in trucking

I have a clean record

work history- franchise owner 2005-2016 in Portland
Franchise owner 2017- present in Vegas

past jobs - zero except I did work at a Jewish boys camp in 1993

I finished college in 1997

1997-2005 ?? don’t ask, don’t ask

Well, speaking as a professional resume writer and forgetting for the moment that I disagree with you on everything.

So your work experience is about two job as a franchise owner covering about 16 years of work experience. that's probably fine. I usually tell people not to go back more than 15 years on a resume, anyway.

Your education is probably fine as well. The fact you have a bachelor's degree is more than enough.

Clearly the experience you have does suit you to a job for management, for customer service or sales.

Everyone has skills, it's just a matter of defining them.

The idea is to identify the work you want to go into and then make sure your resume reflects the industry. This is actually a lot easier than it sounds.

Son. I don't think the Biden Economic Years will help you at all figure out a new career except picking up pieces of coal falling off the railroad trains and selling them.

You can have the greatest work ethic in the world and it will only get you so far. Work smarter not harder. And take time to enjoy life. In the US we work most of our lives. Really that's not all that exciting nor something to be proud of.
OMG. I never worked for a boss my whole adult life. I never had an alarm clock. The first day I ever have to wake up at 5:30 for a boss, you'd find me dead on the floor by 6.

Why do you want to sell your franchise?
I hate it !! It’s miserable and the franchise treats me like total garbage
Also being in Vegas : I experience the most “ genetically damaged “ folks on earth
I also don’t feel safe in Vegas
Well. For me it was following a passion I had for 30 years before finally doing it. Becoming a transit bus operator.

I want a career petting kitty cats (just kidding) dog grooming?

How do you get one
I went to school for a general animal care class then apprenticed with a master groomer. At 60 no one will hire an inexperienced dog groomer. I gutted my law office and built my own dog grooming shop. Then I offered space for instruction to an experienced dog groomer.
