She wasn't hired to write books or attend faculty meetings. She was hired to manage the university. The problem is, she's not a wartime consigliere. The Universities have to realize the Crazy Right Wing is at war with them, run by people who think The Flintstones was a documentary. It isn't affirmative action or antisemitism they are at war with; it's intellectualism.

Several days later all of the critical comments had been deleted. It turned out that we were right, but the Harvard Crimson did not apologize to us.

Now, if you want admissions to be based on SAT scores and GPA alone, you will run into some other problems.

On GPA, my HS GPA was around a B+. Not terribly impressive, except it was a pretty elite High School. Four Chicago Mayors attended it, as well as a lot of other luminaries. Had I attended a CPS school at the time, it would have been an A+ average.

For SAT scores, how do you compensate for those people who can afford SAT Tutors and coaches? It seems like (in addition to the racial bias of the SAT I previously mentioned) that this is also a privilege perpetuation system.
