Nearly 13 years old the ACA has proven GOP dead wrong... again, again, and again.

The ACA ushered in the lowest era of health care cost growth on record. That's why its new spending ended up costing hundreds of billions of dollars less than predicted, and why its Medicare savings ended up being hundreds of billions of dollars more than expected. Thirty percent of the long-term budget projection for spending on major health programs has melted away since the ACA passed, even though two new major health programs were created by it. Before the pandemic hit, health spending as a share of GDP had barely budged since the passage of the ACA (the first decade where that's ever happened), even as 20+ million people gained coverage.

In reality, it's a pretty remarkable story.
LOL. That's because the bills are getting paid by printing monopoly money, increasing inflation and the national debt. Food and other inflation that all Americans are paying is paying for the cost of medical care. You guys are playing a shell game with the money to make such claims for your politically biased agenda.

Inflation didn't increase during the first decade of the ACA while all of the cost slowdowns I just went through were happening. The recent spike (which has already subsided) is a post-pandemic phenomenon.

LOL. That's because of inflation you moron. In order to buy food and pay rents or mortgages, Americans aren't going to the doctor anymore. Yet another example of you guys cherry picking facts to your partisan advantage.

Good guess, but wrong. Utilization growth is a bigger contributor to health care spending growth right now than price growth.

This also has nothing to do with what I was just talking about, which is the absence of other inflationary pressures during the post-ACA health care cost slowdown.

People aren't going to the doctor because they can't afford it so the rate of healthcare costs is down. People would rather spend their money on food and rent rather than the doctor. Something has to give somewhere.

Oh... dont come at me with your mother-in-law's sisters cousin's barber who has a neighbor who is now paying more for insurance... no shit. Everything goes up over time. The question is did it raise prices faster than before? NO. Did it insure more Americans than before? YES.
Did it violate the constitution? Yes. Would the founders support it? NO! Demscum are commie idiots.

On March 23, 2010 Obama and a democratic House and Senate passed the ACA (Obamacare) 100% on party lines. Not one single Republican supported this plan. None. 58 Democratic Senators and 2 independents pushed the ACA through congress. The GOP issued doomsday warning of impending doom to our healthcare system. So where do we sit today?

  • Zero increase in the out of pocket trend from ACA
  • Zero increase in overall spending increase from ACA
  • Historically low percentage of people uninsured
  • Zero death panels are in place
  • You can go to the doctor you want to go to

The GOP's dire warning regarding the Obamacare (ACA) have all ended up in the wasteland of unrealized fear mongering by people who only care about election, not service. Why would anyone support a group this wrong about everything? Tens of millions of lives improved with no corresponding economic downside.
