Nearly 1 million new jobs in July, S&P hits new record

The economy grows when people go out and spend money. Much of the money people got were to pay bills they were behind either because of losing their job, home sick with covid, or a huge reduction of hours. The smaller portion of people who did spend money IF they could find the items they wanted did not have any affect on the unemployment numbers for July. Only one major change took place, and that is the Republican states who stopped the fed unemployment addition.
You said we couldn’t point to a policy that increased employment. That is false.

What you should have said is we couldn’t point to a policy that increased employment that would would agree with.

And that second statement is true, because you will refuse to believe anything Biden does is good.

Dow, S&P 500 hit record highs after strong jobs report

June was revised up, as well, to just under 1 million. Even conservatives have to be happy about this progress.

Friday’s jobs report showed that the U.S. economy added 943,000 jobs in July, according to the Labor Department. Economists expected the economy to have added 845,000 jobs last month, according to estimates from Dow Jones. The unemployment rate dropped to 5.4%, below the estimate of 5.7%.

Bank shares led the gains post-jobs report as rates shot higher, increasing their profitability prospects. Shares of JPMorgan rose more than 2%, while Bank of America and Wells Fargo climbed more than 3%. Industrials, retailers and energy stocks also gained as the jobs report soothed concerns about the economic comeback.
Most of the jobs are 'McJobs'. Most are in the service industry AKA frying burgers for minimum wage.
Most of the people who got a job only did so to top up their unemployment insurance weeks. When they have enough weeks they'll be back on unemployment insurance meaning the fucking taxpayers AKA those who earn enough money they have to pay Federal income tax will be supporting them again.
No one working at a minimum wage job pays a fucking penny in Federal income tax.

That Joe Biden. He is right up there with the men who built America...his game is to be on the stage.. pontificating any piece of legislation. Its what Progs do. This infrastructure bill is 4 years or so to late.

If a crummy 1400 bucks could jump start the economy of 330 million people, don't you think they'd use it every time?

$1400 isn't shit in this day and age. It might get you the newest iPhone with a charger for your vehicle, but that's about it.

Economies improve with policies that not only circulates money into the economy, but gives people confidence there is more on the way, like a secure income. That's when people start to acquire and use residual income for non-essential things.

So no, there is not an ounce of evidence that a stimulus that came out in March had anything to do with job numbers four months later. If Trump were in charge, we'd be in the low 4% range in unemployment because he would have never signed on to the federal unemployment addition.

Only 4 little shithole red stats cut the benefits June 12, most other states like Texas and Florida didn't cut them until June 26, having no effect on the June or July numbers, as you well knew, which is why you LIED about the cuts starting in May, you knew they needed more time to have an effect on June +938,000 or July +943,000 numbers.

Nope. 17 stated did it including mine. We were late in the game, and even our fed cut was in June.

If Trump were in charge unemployment would be 8% because he would be doing such a poor job at managing the pandemic and never would have passed economic stimulus and government would be at a standstill due to his intransigence, selfishness and chaotic governing.

See, the dishonesty here is that you expect everyone to adhere to your pro-Trump dogma.

"New jobs" or did unemployment run out? There might be jobs around but nobody wants to fill them.

That's why this whole thing is a farce. We've had a labor shortage the last several months. In other word jobs were always there. it's just that now some people decided to get off of unemployment and finally take those jobs. Either their state canceled the federal addition or their benefits expired. Biden didn't create one new job. He never tried to make a policy to create any jobs.

We have a labor shortage. What don't you get about that? People are getting paid the same or more to stay home than work. If they weren't, they would have taken these jobs and yes, unemployment would be in the low 4% range.

That's per couple...with more for kids.

Yea...that money matters.

What are you...rich?

Far from it which is how I know how little that actually is. That stimulus is not responsible for an improved jobs number four months later.

Wrong. That money was gone as soon as people received it. Mine went straight to property taxes.
And what do you think THAT did. Do you think it disappears?

No it pays salaries so people don't get laid off. It pays for all sorts of shit

You’re wrong about the contents of the package.

Just a single example;

Like I said. It’s spent as soon as it is received. I know several people with kids. They spent it on new cars, new appliances and trips.

Sounds like a great economic stimulus.

Thanks for proving the point.

LIAR! Only 4 states made the cut June 12th, most of the rest cut them on June 26, obviously having no effect on the million June jobs, and therefore no effect on the July million jobs.
Here are the dates the cuts, were made:
  1. Arkansas June 26
  2. Florida June 26
  3. Georgia June 26
  4. Montana June 26
  5. Ohio June 26
  6. Oklahoma June 26
  7. South Carolina June 26
  8. South Dakota June 26
  9. Texas June 26
  10. Utah June 26
  11. Maryland July 3
  12. Tennessee July 3
  13. Arizona July 10
  14. Louisiana August 3
