Also, they have no further recourse now should Trump do something else they don't like. It's not like she can go back now and amend the articles to include new stuff. Trump has nothing to fear from them now, so the next year should be interesting indeed.

Pull the WB in, find out who leaked the phone call first, what was Schiff's involvement in writing the complaint, stuff like that. All the while steadfastly ignoring anything to do with Trump. All of a sudden, the usual suspects now wailing about transparency and getting all the facts out and why are they afraid to call witnesses, etc would turn tail and shriek that it's not fair, this shouldn't be dug into, make it all go away.

Yeah, it will give McConnell and the White House more time to coordinate the best defense, how long to keep the democrats off the campaign trail, which democrats to call in the investigation into how the phone call was handled, that sort of thing. I mean, the democrats are already insisting that the Senate not restrict itself only to what the House passes over, so why not really open it up?
