my GOD....what on earth makes these idiots apply ?

I don't want to hurt or be politically incorrect....

but

do not come to the Military.... DO NOT OK?

go and work for McDonald's.

Unbelievable!

Idk, but if they can't do 7 pullups, that's pretty sorry.

I'd almost bet Bodey can't.

Damn, only 10 for SEAL? Owait, then there's that 10 mile running stuff. :eusa_naughty:

5 minute mile + 1/2 = 7:30 mile and 1/2

I'd probly rather turn and fight than do that these days.

I run no further than 100 yds.
I can't do any pull ups...shoulder problem.

I had mild plantar fascistic in both feet, yet attended and graduated Korean Ranger School.

The lack of safety concerns (zip gliding across a 280 foot drop into a small reservoir without a safety ~ saw a Korean trainee smack into the wall before he dropped from the zip line as well as crossing a chasm on a rope foot bridge at 300 feet without a safely line) eventually ended American participation.

A daily, graduated PT program will remove almost all of the problems for the Navy.

Navy gives 48,000 sailors 'fitness pardon' who can't meet fitness demands | American Military News

dec 22 2017 The U.S. Navy will grant “fitness pardons” to nearly 50,000 sailors who have fitness failures on their records, in order to help maintain the level of sailors needed for readiness, the Navy Times reported this week.

“Retention of every capable Sailor is critical to the operational readiness of the Navy,” said Vice Adm. Robert Burke, Chief of Naval Personnel, the Navy Times reported. “The goal of the Navy’s physical readiness program is to maintain a minimum prescribed level of fitness necessary for world-wide deployment and to maintain a sailor’s long-term health and wellness.”

The change is effective immediately.

Blacks too are especially prone to being overweight.

Unfortunately the military tends to feed its troops with a lot of unhealthy stuff. Dining facilities are basically just fast food and cheap cafeteria food; fried chicken, potatoes, breads, etc.

Ok...I understand.

But on the other hand the troops make a lot of exercise so probably everything balances in the end.

From 1994 until 2002, I was a Physical Readiness Training (PRT) coordinator for the Navy. And, in that time, most of the people that I saw fail the test didn't fail because they couldn't do the exercise minimum requirement, they mainly failed because they were over body fat percentage. Personally? I thought the body fat measurement that we did with a couple of tape measurements wasn't really all that accurate.

And, the OP is showing their bias and bigotry again, because most of the people who failed their PRT test were males.

Yeah I thought it was kind of silly as well. I mean how can the neck measurement really determine body fat percentage? I've seen some really low body fat people with really huge necks...

Hell look at ex-NFL player Brian Urlacher.

Nobody really cares about this. So they failed a military fitness test. Out how terrible. Tisk risk.

Obviously, you've never been in the real military. When you fail an APFT, they don't throw you out. They might screw with you a bit, but depending on their manpower needs, they just put stuff in your file.

The real problem here is that no one is joining up at a very high rate, so the military keeps lowering the standards.

Perhaps we have way too many joining and need to scale down to eliminate the unfit.

Correct...

But to be fair, the standards for females on the APFT was lower than the males. 28 pushups compared to 40 and about three extra minutes on the run.

I don't know if it is still true or not, but in the Marines the women didn't have to do pull-ups as part of their PRT, they do a straight arm hang.

It doesn't censor anything. There is simply no breaking down of age, gender, race, religion....

Meaning you are making stuff up.

The Alt Right and Far Right insistence on negative values of the fifties weaken this country.

Up until 2002 when I retired, you could fail a PRT test, but if you failed 3 in one enlistment, they would look at sending you home. Guess all that changed when we started to get into unending wars.

And no...................personally I think it is a pretty bad idea, because like I said, most fails were because of exceeding body fat percentages. People CAN diet and exercise and their commands are happy to encourage them.

And................we should do well to remember the lesson of Reagan. He wanted to have a 500 ship Navy, but he didn't increase the enlistment quotas, which resulted in a shortage of people, with many ships in the late 80's and early 90's going to sea with only 85 percent manning.
