Navy gives 48,000 sailors 'fitness pardon' who can't meet fitness demands | American Military News

dec 22 2017 The U.S. Navy will grant “fitness pardons” to nearly 50,000 sailors who have fitness failures on their records, in order to help maintain the level of sailors needed for readiness, the Navy Times reported this week.

“Retention of every capable Sailor is critical to the operational readiness of the Navy,” said Vice Adm. Robert Burke, Chief of Naval Personnel, the Navy Times reported. “The goal of the Navy’s physical readiness program is to maintain a minimum prescribed level of fitness necessary for world-wide deployment and to maintain a sailor’s long-term health and wellness.”

The change is effective immediately.

Looks like the deplorables will be impressed into ze navy...

In libtard speak, "equal rights" means holding certain classes to lower standards.

Actually we had lots of E-6 and Chiefs who failed in the past....almost all male....and one E-6 dropped dead of a heart attack during our quarterly PT back in '85. Shortly after that, I remember a few senior officers did the same.

Vice Admiral Burke's official opinion means everything, while your post means nothing.

Idk, but if they can't do 7 pullups, that's pretty sorry.

I'd almost bet Bodey can't.

Damn, only 10 for SEAL? Owait, then there's that 10 mile running stuff. :eusa_naughty:

5 minute mile + 1/2 = 7:30 mile and 1/2

I'd probly rather turn and fight than do that these days.

I run no further than 100 yds.

I could swear we used to have to do 50 situps in 1 minute. Pushups, too.

One time I did 50 pushups just cuz the gym coach caught me cussin', and it was either that or go to the Dean's office.

It's funny you have to make up most of what you post.

50 situps in one minute is pretty easy.

They are REAL situps, not half-ass ones.

Your point being? :uhh: I could do it right now. I'd throw up beer, but I damn sure could crank out 50 in a minute..way less than a minute, actually.

My point being? Many people don't do correct form situps and think they can do more than they really can. Hell, many people think a crunch is a situp, and they aren't the same.

Just like with pull-ups in the Marine Corps. People think they can do more pull-ups than they actually can, because you aren't allowed to kick your legs in order to give you a boost to get up, and they watch you to make sure you lock out your elbows all the way in the down position.

And when ShootSpeeders posts, the world
