Trump did not start it. When something is giving out the people do not want it removed. So the pre exisiting conditions one way or another will be taken care of. It was the massive increases in a percentage of peoples medical insurance premiums and deductables and the tax penalty that was vile. Whatever you say about Trump,it was crap like that that got him elected. The reality is that he promised about 75% of Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz would have been a great President. But he mpost likely was not electable between the evangelical Christians and the blue dog Dem voters. Trump was. Trump also has to walk a tightrope with the swamp people. You have seen it. Some were in his cabinet and had to be or the Repub party may have revolted. If Trump get a fair/good percentage of what he promised then he is successful. He already is successful with Hillary not there. Tell me who else is going to be President. Who will the American people galvanize behind in pure political common sense? Yesterday Pelosi and several Progs were in a Sicilian funeral procession double line with the articles of Impeachment. to serve the Senate. Progs emote...their method actors. Its just that after fifty or sixty years of watching them it is so damn tiring. There's a new boss in town and he is so much better.

Now, there's a real possibility that you might have witnesses like Bolton and Mulvaney coming to testify. Whether they come before or during arguments is irrelevant. Add to that the juicy emails and text messages from Gulliani's "associates" about the whole Ukraine debacle and now it's not as cut and dry as it was three weeks ago because moderate senators (some who are up for re-election) understand that to just dismiss this would be the kiss of death come election time.

I look on this as a push. I have no illusions that Trump will be removed by conviction...but least now, Mitch can't just sweep it under the rug.

And it allowed time for even more incriminating facts and evidence to come forth..... even if new witnesses and evidence is not allowed, it will be covered in depth, by the press.
