In my apology thread, a poster mentioned good ol days of when all he had to do was pick up his rotating phone, do his banking, and misses the click click click as he dialed. Which made me think of MANY good old days. Thought it might be a fun thread?

1. When people actually saw you, the sky, birds, trees, waves, shops, dinner on their plate, etc instead of looking down at their phones.

2. Being able to walk at night just to enjoy looking at stars or enjoying the quiet without being fearful of being attacked.

3. When homeless people rode the rails and were called hobo's and didn't shove it in everyone's faces, shit on the sidewalks or pee in someone's garden.

4. Kindness outweighed cruelty.

5. When men were men...and women, classy.

Got some of your own you miss?

1. When you could see the Milky Way.

If anyone is tempted to look upon a bygone era as "good old days", one word will dispel that notion...

... Dentistry.

Catturd over on twitter and I are on the same page I guess. The responses AND the tweet made me smile. Hope it does the same for y'all!

Getting up on a sultry Summer night and walking with my sheet to the sand dunes 50 yards away and sleeping very comfortably until sunrise. Going for a quick swim, getting home and showering with the cold water shower out the back and getting ready for school.....started in grades 4 and 5.

Mum never found out.

People were able to do that here in Los Angeles when I was a teenager in the 1950s.

If I took a night university class, I would walk back to my car without the slightest concern.

Today that same university warns students not to do that. In the last decade or so, two students from China were shot to death while sitting in their car at night, and another student from China was severely beaten while walking near the campus at night. He staggered home and dropped dead.

The assailants were members of two certain ethnicities.

We did have a lot of casual sex what with being bored with no cell phones.

When all of my late favorite singers were still here, the sad thing though is that back in those days, I was way too young to realize who it was that I would be missing so much later on in life.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I have what they left behind though and ever since I first discovered them, I have done nothing but hang onto what they left behind with all that I have in me.

When you could count on being enslaved to go risk life and limb in some meaningless military escapade halfway around the world.
