:wtf:

"Cornell William Brooks, the president of the NAACP, compared Colin Kaepernick’s decision not to stand during the national anthem at NFL games in 2016 to Rosa Parks’ decision not to give up her bus seat to a white passenger in 1955.

“It’s a lofty name, but it’s not a stretch,” Brooks
told USA Today Sports. “We’ll let history be the judge, how consequential Kaepernick’s action is.”

Y
ES, yes it is a HUGE stretch!

Spoiled Millionaire NFL QB is ticked so he takes a knee during the national anthem....and that somehow makes him the modern-day equivalent to Rosa Parks, a black woman who was not allowed to sit in the front of the bus with whites doing so anyway in protest?!

:bsflag:

No one has demanded CK 'sit in the back of the bus. No has insisted CK drink from a separate water fountain, enter restaurants from the back door, had bricks been thrown at him, etc.

Millionaire CK has a fine house, has a fine ride, lacks for nothing, can go anywhere he wants, and does not fear for his life because he chose to take a knee.

The NAACP has lost their damn minds, blowing this whole 'take a knee' crap out of proportion. Could it be that the NAACP no longer has anyone in their organization who lived through the Rosa Park era? Who knows exactly what it was like back then?

If they think today and CK taking a knee is ANYTHING like Rosa Parks taking a daring stand against racism by taking a seat at the front of a bus they HAVE lost their damn minds!

If CK wants to show the courage of Rosa Parks and actually do something to make a difference, get off your knee, leave your safe zone that is the sideline, and go out into the world and do something that will REALLY make a difference.

The funny thing about all of this is that Kaepernick claims he did this to start a discussion about some vague notion of his about "oppression" in America, but the only discussion he has started is about him.

Was that his intention from the start?

Well, he was about to be cut from the team......

I don't buy it. Now, if Kaepernick were the starter, and he refused to play out of protest for white LBs sacking him, I might buy it. Maybe. Probably not.

smh and on it goes. Why does the country beat a dead horse these days?

Rosa was not a communist. She was just a brave woman who got tired of sitting in the back of the bus because she was black.
