He is right. The moment dems take control of the White House, they will put the FCC into overdrive to go after conservatives. We never needed the FCC to say anything. He would have been fired regardless. He got fired because all the ABC affiliates were getting inundated with angry calls about Kimmel. Many of these affiliates are in rural areas that dont support Kimmel's anti conservative sickness. They werent going to outrage their viewers by airing more Charlie Kirk hate. The affiliates hammered the top execs at ABC and Disney, forcing them to put an end to the show.

The government should stay out of it and let the market decide.

Actually, President Trump's criticism of Kimmel gave Disney the perfect opportunity to dump Kimmel.

Kimmel had already pissed away half him audience since January. Disney was overjoyed to have him removed from the air where they could let Trump take the blame for it.

In Kimmel had an audience, he'd still be working.

That's the deal. You, ABC, you get a monopoly on this block of frequencies for over the air broadcast, and in return, your broadcasts can't involve nudity, you can't say ****, Shit, Piss, ************, **********, Tits and ****... even though the first amendment recognizes those things as protected speech and expression... and you can't intentionally distort the news, or perpetrate a hoax on the American people, especially in regard to crimes and catastrophes, in an over-the-airwaves broadcast.

That's the deal. The whole deal.

And for that they get a license to broadcast television for the low, low cost of $7,800 per million people in the broadcast area.

In other words...peanuts.

A 30 million person broadcast area costs $244,000 a year. The entire yearly license cost less than 7 seconds of a 30 second Superbowl ad.

Sounds like a pretty good trade to me.

Anyway, Cruz is correct. We have to walk a fine line with speech. As for Kimmel, that is totally different as he violated the terms of ABCs broadcast license.
