Musk Feedback on Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill"

Trump Tariffs Are Hurting U.S. and Global Economy, OCED Warns.

The Paris-based organization slashed its global forecasts for the second time this year, citing the impact of the American president’s tariff onslaught. The combination of trade barriers and uncertainty are hitting confidence and holding back investment, it said, while also warning that protectionism is adding to inflationary pressures.

The OECD now forecasts global economic growth to slow to 2.9% this year from 3.3% in 2024. It expects the rate of expansion in the US will tumble further, to 1.6% from 2.8% — an outlook that is significantly lower than its projection in March.

Elon Musk lashed out on Tuesday against the far-reaching Republican bill intended to enact President Trump’s domestic policy agenda, posting on X that it was a “disgusting abomination” and telling House members who voted for it: “You know you did wrong.”

Trouble in MAGA land as Musk seems to be threatening Republicans who voted or will vote for Trump's signature bill.

Musk is probably all in a rage because the bill swells the national debt and makes DOGE look like a farce.. which it probably was.

As far as the debt is concerned, the only way the debt will ever come down from 37 trillion dollars and growing is to raise tax revenue.

.you have to cut spending. Raising taxes will only entice more spending.

The CBO said that the House Bill has a $380b deficit, or $3.8T over 10-years.
What someone needs to explain to Elon is:
1. Tariffs will add $400b in new revenue
2. GDP Growth more than 1.8% will add more revenue
3. When the Fed cuts interest rates that will save on the $1b interest on the $37T Debt
4. DOGE will find more savings, above $180b that it is now.
5. The senate may set the top tax rate to 40% gaining $500b in new revenue.

A balanced budget is possible.
I'd think Musk has better information than what is in the media.

Bullshit

  • The bill ends or seriously curtails EV tax credits.
  • WH employment status not being extended.
  • No Starlink at FAA.
  • His buddy's appointment to NASA got torpedoed.

He has zero motivation to try to polish the turd.

When Musk was tasked with weeding out the waste and fraud so the government could save money, only to find out the government is going to spend more money, it doesn't matter what Elon says about it. What should be the concern of everyone is that the government is going to spend more money.
That's Elon's point.

He's literally just the messenger. Don't overlook the message.
He took the message seriously, Musk did. We should take what the world's richest man has to say seriously. Literally, he's the richest man alive, we should try to take his economic principles seriously. You don't get rich like that by wasting money.

SERIOUSLY.

The Blowhard's "big, beautiful bill" was already being shredded by Republicans in the senate.

His oligarch has a right to express his opinion of it, considering the price Slasher Musk paid in its making.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination... Shame on those who voted for it:
you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Yeah, I don't like it either. What, you thought I was one of those idiots walking in lockstep with him?

On the "Big, Beautiful Bill"

In Washington, federal workers say that DOGE has left the government's operations in disarray. And worst of all, it might have all been for nothing. Musk claims to have saved the government $175 billion so far (nowhere close to his original target of $2 trillion, or even his revised target of $1 trillion).

And that was before the president's new spending bill passed the House. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the president's proposed budget will add $3.8 trillion to our debt over the next ten years. It's now being debated in the Senate.

Musk said, "I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, doesn't decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing."

I said, "I actually thought that, when this 'big, beautiful bill' came along, it'd be like, everything he's done on DOGE gets wiped out in the first year."

Wow, Trump saying one thing (to get people's votes) but doing the opposite? Is that what the Republicans support?

Uh-oh...looks like the Bromance may be over!
IMO, both of these people, Trump and Musk, are pretty thin-skinned..not to mention narcissistic to a fault.

I wonder if Musk can actually muster a real following?

Elon Musk blasted President Donald Trump’s“big, beautiful bill” of tax breaks and spending cuts as a “disgusting abomination” on Tuesday, testing the limits of his political influence as he targeted the centerpiece of Republicans’ legislative agenda.

The broadside, which Musk issued on his social media platform X, came just days after the president gave him a celebratory Oval Office farewell that marked the end of his work for the administration, where he spearheaded the Department of Government Efficiency.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk posted on X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

The legislation, which has passed the House and is currently under debate in the Senate, would curtail subsidies that benefit Tesla, Musk’s electric automaker.

The tech billionaire followed his criticism with a threat aimed at Republicans.

“In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people,” he wrote in another X post.

Indeed..indeed we do. Less than sure we agree on just who those folks may be...but for sure we both recognize the opportunity~

trump is a Liar. He says whatever he thinks the audience wants. If confronted, he says, "Did I say that?"

musk has threatened any repub who votes for it in the Senate. I guess the love affair between him and the fat man is over?

The massive bill, which is now being considered by the Republican-led Senate, contains many provisions in line with Trump’s second-term agenda, but also is estimated to add trillions of dollars to the national debt, already nearing $37 trillion.
