I am actually old enough to remember, and, as I remember it, all the sources I read seriously only stated the source was unknown. I was never under the impression Fauci or the CDC pretended to know the source. Pointless now, as we still do not know the source.
Again, the point is that the opinion of many of the right was that COVID originated in a lab, while the opinion of most on the left was that it came from an animal in a wet market. With neither side having proof, both sides should have been free to express the opinion on the subject, but only one opinion was allowed. That opinion was one pushed predominately by the left.
Another point here is that exactly why were many on the left so quick to jump on the wet market theory, without proof?
