The murder rate was 5.6 in 2017, dropped to 5.1 in 2018, then went to 6.8 in 2020. In dropped to 5.7 in 2023, even the article mentioned the murder rate continued to drop in 2024. In other words, the murder rate went up during Trump's first term, it went down during Biden's only term. And even this lower claimed rate is still higher than it was when Trump took office the first.
The FBI changed their reporting system in in 2023 and not all law enforcement agencies are reporting crimes to the FBI. That could be part of the reason. And the trend line has been a decline since 2020.
I mean this is so typical of the right wing media, and Daily Signal is about as an extreme far right basis as it gets. Remember, this is the same people that were telling you crime was up under Biden, it wasn't. I mean those on the right are, first are so desperate for any little nugget of information that they will latch on to anything to support their support of the orange turd. And second, just exceedingly gullible.
The question has been asked, what policy has the Trump administration implemented that could be contributing to this decline? I mean do you right wing nut jobs actually believe Trump's tough talk has decreased the murder rate? And in just five months? I guess logic is not you guys strong suit.
I mean I am predicting it now. There were 18 hurricanes last season. This season will probably produce less, then the Daily Signal is going to post an article, Donald Trump reduced the number of hurricanes.
