There was outrage as the assumption was made that she meant the pope's death was a defeat of evil. I really thought she would say that she didn't mean the pope, or she would have said so, and talk about who she did mean, after expressing her admiration for the late pope.
This is what she said, instead:
Ok, she didn't sound like a liberal in the last few pages.
She did sound sincere in her reasons to harshly criticize the leadership of the Catholic church.
