There is no established process for impeachment and the Constitution doesn't specify much. If Pelosi ever musters the political courage to send the articles to the Senate McConnell will handle it. Moderate republicans like Collins might try some political posturing but you know she will vote to throw the charges out and the crazy left will have another excuse to engage in anarchy.

McConnell's comments on the other hand were merely procedural as the head of the republican senate and he was discussing how the defense of the president in the impeachment trial would be handled (whether to just have an up or down vote or to call witnesses, etc.) which is his job as he is the ranking republican.

No conflict of interests at all and here is someone else, yourself, who doesn't understand that as speaker for the republicans in the Senate it is Mitch McConnell's duty and job to form an effective defense against the smears and untruths of the House democrats looking to remove a president by any means necessary because their party simply cannot win at the polls.

Yes I perceive her to be a highly moral individual even though she's a DC politician. I would imagine that she's probably pretty much worn out with exposure on a daily basis to the sewer that is Washington DC.
