Archaeologists claimed that the arch-designs and markings dated as old as 1400 years and not ‘rediscovered’ until 2001. The underwater city, some 85-131 feet below sea level, is home to several well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, including pagodas, temples and countless arches carved with dragons, lions and phoenixes.
