Last Evening a group of seminarians dressed in clerical attire and sweatshirts showed up at a public kerry/Edwards debate party carrying pro-life signs to the event. They were manhandled, accosted and told to leave. Kerry supporters went right up to the faces of the priests, started yelling and screaming. They were told by various Kerry staff that they could not have their signs, to which the Priests produced a document by the ACLU stating they could be there with their signs.
Finally they were told they had two options, to leave peacefully or be escorted out.

Yeah...so much for the Democratic party being the party of FREE SPEECH and DIVERSITY :bsflag:

Seriously, you're going to make absolutely zero traction here. The only people Bush ever sees are doting pre-screened supporters who sign loalty oathes to the king--er, president. You can't get in to see him if you're a dissenting view. I saw video of a Kerry rally where there were dozens of people towards the front clapping with flip-flops over their heads. Such people wouldn't have a prayer of seeing the inside of a Bush rally.

Subtext: Democrats have a rigid party line but a diverse face.
Republicans have a monolithically white face with dissenting views among it's members.

And we all pretend that the left is inclusive but the right is exclusive.

Prove it! :)

Oh there's plenty of traction here. The left is totally intolerant of dissenting opinion. They are the party that openly advocates the abandonment of rationality in deference for feelings and an "everyone should just be happy" mentality. When reality confronts them, or people who rationally explain to them the flaws in their ignorant mentality confront them, their claws snap out, their fangs emerge, and the personal attacks and nastiness begin. They cannot argue, because rationality has been villainized as something "male" or "eurocentric". This is what I've learned and seen.

You are wrong. A friend of mine works for the Bush/Cheney campaign in NM. When I asked her how to get passes to one of Bush's Rally's for some co workers and myself she said "I"ll get them for you". Not once did she ask anything else. I might also add that I am not a Republican and she know it.

Of course there is, Kerry has dissented from himself plenty of times! Bush too!

The difference is that kerry will insist he was consistent and there have been no changes. He mealy mouths around saying nonsensical gibberish which he believes reconciles his inconsistencies. But thinking people see right through it. Bush will explain why he changed his mind. It's a fundamental difference.

Then why is lily-white Iowa one of the states for the primaries? Iowa is a BIG liberal state.

That's why us Minnesotans say that Iowa stands for: Idiots Out Wandering Around.
