Switzerland’s gun laws are rather strict, including three classes of weapons and ammunition with varying degrees of restrictions, mandatory background checks per-purchase, training, the banning of high-powered weapons, an ability to disarm citizens, bans of immigrants and criminals owning guns, and other general restrictions and regulations.

And yet if their criminals want guns they will get them……Is Sweden, France , Belgium or the Netherlands less strict?

They were simple recognized. “Rights” granted by any government aren’t rights, they are privileges that are revocable anytime at the whim of the government that granted them.

The annoying thing about people who spout off about the three fifths compromise is that they have no knowledge about what it was. It was a compromise between the pro-slavery members of the convention to have their slaves, who had no rights at all, be counted as a full person by the census for political representation and the anti-slavery members who didn't want slaves counted at all because they had no other rights as people. The pro-slavery people wanted to have their cake and eat it as well, they wanted to use their slaves to solidify their control of the Republic. Even the three fifths compromise allowed them to do that until the massive white immigration waves started arriving in the late 1840s shifting the political power to the northern, non-slave-owning states, resulting eventually in the ACW. The slave-owning states only seceded when it became certain that they had lost the political game of controlling the USA.

Here is the FACT as far as cities vs rural areas.
“Gun death rates are consistently higher in rural areas than in big cities, two decades of data show. From 2011 to 2020, the most rural counties in the U.S. had a 37% higher rate of gun deaths per capita than the most urban counties, according to research published Wednesday in the journal JAMA.”


Why ? Because more rural areas are in red states and red states lead in gun violence.
