The new Zogby Analytics Poll of 843 likely voters shows that Donald Trump is perceived by voters nationwide as better prepared to handle several major issues–among them the economy, the creation of jobs, taxes and national security. The poll was conducted online January 19-20 and has a margin of sampling error of +/-3.4 percentage points.
Trump leads Clinton on creating jobs by 16 points, 46% to 30%, with 13% saying neither and 3% both. He leads on this issue among both men (55%-26%) and women (41%-33%), as well as among independents (46%-24%) and moderates (42%-36%). He even scores significant points among both Hispanics (37% to Clinton’s 45%) and African Americans (23% to 56%).
Overall, the same is true on the economy. Trump outscores Clinton by 14 points, 46% to 32%, with 12% saying neither and 4% both. Again he is ahead among men and women (52%-31%) and women (41%-34%). He simply wallops her among independents, 45% to 23% and leads by 7 points among moderates 41% to 34%. On the economy he is weak among Hispanics (only 4% think he is more fit than the former Secretary of State who scores 40%) and African Americans (11% to 73%).
The real estate developed is viewed as stronger on taxes (43%) than Clinton (30%)–another issues he leads among men, women, independents and moderates.
