Mold? Leaky Roof? Obama Administration Says All Americans Must Have 'Healthy Housing'

Are we all going to get new houses?

We are all gonna get a new house.

I'm still waiting for my Obama bucks though...
Never got my Obama free cell phone.
And I'm still paying for cable and Internet.
I thought I was gonna get free Internet.
Come to think of it I am still paying rent for my apartment.
And I still pay for my own food....

What up wid dat?

This suks!

If mold started growing in the apartment..behind the walls..how would you deal with it?

I can't quite see where, in the announcement, it says that the gummint is going to force homeowners to do anything.
Someone please help.
The overall vision for the Strategy is to reduce the number of American homes with residential health and safety hazards, achieved through five goals:

1.Establish healthy homes recommendations
2.Encourage adoption of healthy homes recommendations
3.Create and support training and workforce development to address health hazards in housing
4.Educate the public about healthy homes
5.Support research that informs and advances healthy housing in a cost-effective manner
HUDNo.13-011

This administration never stops...everyday it is something else with them..

from your food, your drugs, your insurance, what type weapon you can have for protection, now your homes

you people are fools

You'll have to forgive them, they're not very bright. They don't know the difference between recommendations and rulings.

Oh goody. Another way for the government to seize property via condemnations in order to transfer assets far below market value to their cronies.

just wait,
they are now going to fine you if you don't purchase INSURANCE

The government wants to study dangers in the home, train people to deal with the issues, educate the public on those dangers, make recommendations and encourage states to adopt those recommendations.

The outrage should be on how we're going to pay for that, not on the program itself.

Presumably the payoff will be in reduced health costs to offset the cost of implementation.

I suspect that will be just about as effective as the Weather Stripping Stimulus Program.

We're still trying to figure out the double counting of Medicare savings, dood.

I think "off setting healthcare costs" would depend on how much they plan to spend, there is a lack of figures in the OP.

Don't get me wrong, everything they talk about sounds just spiffy, but there are similar style programs at the state level, Im not sure if one is needed on the federal level.

The government is going to clean up crack houses by educating the crack addicts on keeping a clean house. You can't make this up.

It should be our own embarrassment that we recognize in having to have anyone, even, especially the government to point out things that have been over looked for years. Addressing Americans' health issues, especially mental health, means targeting our most comfortable areas.. our dwelling places.

It was glaringly clear in the movie "Mama" that Hollywood has been reaching out for years but we are all too often more fearing toward a monster masked with a face.

It's more than a clean house. It's better understanding what we are using as building materials and such.
