WHY the statement by Obama "Over half of all Americans have pre-existing conditions" was a LIE and IS NOT an issue!

This preexisting condition issue is just another example of Democrat dishonesty. Not once has Trump or the Republicans talked about doing away with the preexisting condition government requirement for insurance. In fact they all say they support it.

That is too bad because I wish they would. It is nothing more than another form of welfare and it is despicable.

Why should an insurance pool be required by the filthy ass government to cover your medical bills when you never paid into the pool?

They say a lot of things because they know the country wants people to be able to access health care. They are doing the opposite of what they say. You can never go on what a politician says. You have to look at what they actually do.

As most of these Obama Care promises have fallen by the wayside, the Obama administration has had to emphasize the still undiscredited crises, such as pre-existing conditions.
The problem is that the administration could find such a crisis only by lying with statistics.

Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) incredibly determined that almost half the American population could be ineligible for health insurance due to a preexisting condition. This sure sounds like a crisis, but the HHS simply counted all Americans with asthma, bad backs, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases that theoretically could be a reason to deny coverage or charge a higher premium.
According to the latest Census Bureau data, 309 million Americans have health insurance. Of these 4 percent are covered by directly purchased insurance alone. The remaining 96 percent are covered by government or company insurance or some combination. Government health insurance does not allow discrimination based on preexisting conditions. Company insurance typically does not either, insofar as the risk pool is already incorporated in the premiums, and there are portability requirements in moving from company to company.

Thus 12 million people purchased private direct purchased health insurance on the eve of Obama Care. Insurance industry studies show that one in eight applicants for private health insurance have preexisting conditions that affect their eligibility or premiums.
This gives a total of 1.5 million Americans who were denied health insurance or paid higher premiums due to pre-existing conditions.

The Obama administration has lied with statistics!
Instead of 150 million, there are 1.5 million Americans, who “cannot get insurance or must pay higher premiums due to pre-existing conditions.” The pre-existing conditions crisis becomes a gnat bite when things are measured correctly. How to Lie with Statistics of the 1960s showed how to fudge statistics a little, not to exaggerate by a hundred-fold. The Obama administration has taken this to a new level befitting the 21st century.

Now further proof that the "Pre-existing conditions" issue was totally blown out of proportion...
How many people signed up for Obamacare's "Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plan:
If you don't believe this chart.. Go to this government web site:
Total enrollment as of January 31, 2014... ONLY 19,569! Think about that number! And we were told by Obama "Over half (160 million) of All Americans...."
If so where are the 160 million enrollees in Obamacare Pre-existing conditions!
THINK folks THINK! A total gross misrepresentation of a FACT for sure.. Over half of all Americans have Pre-existing conditions.... BUT 50% of those 160 million
have employer health which pays for pre-existing conditions! Total lie!

Your argument is completely dependent upon employer sponsored health insurance. Tell me, why in the hell should someone's insurance be dependent upon their employer. It is wage slavery, plain and simple. I mean the slaves were dependent upon their "massah" for their food, their shelter, and their HEALTH CARE. Our current system of health insurance, mostly driven by employer sponsored health insurance, is as DYSFUNCTIONAL as it gets. It results in immense economic inefficiency. Who benefits from it? Most certainly not the worker. It is a damn game, and a bad one at that. Not only do the companies benefit, but so do the insurers, who get to segment the risk pool based on employment. It is immoral and should be eliminated immediately. Supporting it is, well, just STUPID.
Agree

People were forced to remain in jobs they did not want, just to keep the insurance

Why should our employers dictate what health insurance we have

Why should self-employed folks who make decent money be forced to pay an arm and a leg to cover the “free” and subsidized folks? Everything idiot Democrats support involves wealth distribution, one way or another. Penalize those who make the money and give it to those that don’t.

Sorry, but those folks getting “free” and subsidized plans are typically the biggest drain on the system because they utilize it more frequently and often no for good reason. Us paying folks have deductibles to meet and co-pays which prevent us from going to the doctor every time we have a sniffle to be prescribed a “free” prescription strength medication. Most of us go to the store and buy something over the counter and move on. Being lonely one day doesn’t constitute a doctor visit because a) we have to work and b) it isn’t “free”.

Ironically, Obamacare has only helped the bottom of the bottom income earners. The middle class is footing the bill, particularly self-employed folks who can no longer get a catastrophic plan. These bottom earners should get on Medicaid, but instead we don’t want to hurt any feelings so we just give them the same health plans for “free” that the higher wage earners get. It shouldn’t work that way.

I priced Obamacare for fun several year ago. Our income is very good but the price of Obamacare for us was absolutely ridiculous, to a point that would set us back a couple of tax brackets. If the Democrats get their way, between higher taxes and health insurance, the ultra-wealthy(top .5%) will be on the only ones who will be able to afford a higher than average standard of living. Many of the Democratic politicians and big donors are already in this group so they don’t care. Unless they are one of them or one of the ultra-poor, Democratic voters are nothing more than useful idiots voting for their own demise.

In theory you pay anyway. You either pay up front or you pay when they really get sick and go to the emergency room.

I say in theory because we now largely operate on debt because no one wants to pay for much of anything.

When will you step up and start paying our war costs?

This preexisting condition issue is just another example of Democrat dishonesty. Not once has Trump or the Republicans talked about doing away with the preexisting condition government requirement for insurance. In fact they all say they support it.

You are confused Moon Bat.

The Democrats are the ones that lied about healthcare and created a disastrous ACA bill that ran up the cost of premiums, co payments and deductible. We are waiting to get the $2500 a year reduction in the cost of health care that the lying Obama sonofabitch promised us.

Even though the Democrats lie about it unfortunately Trump and the Republicans support preexisting conditions and that is just wrong.

It would be nice if the filthy ass Democrat Party would be honest with the American people every once in awhile but we know that will never happen, don't we? They are the scum of American and lie every time they open their mouths.

You are under the false assumption that these office visits and wellness visits that those of us with private insurance have every so often. It is much more than that. It is human nature to take just about anything for “free”. People will stand around waiting on the next batch of “free” snacks given out by Costo if when they aren’t hungry. Why? Because it is “free”.

The health care system will be overwhelmed with a single-payer system, which is where the democrats are headed in case you haven’t figured that out yet. We will have a doctor shortage, thus we will lower our standards for medical school and dilute the pool with less qualified candidates. The quality of care will be substantially decreased, even for those currently on Medicaid who get it for ‘free”. They will be forced to wait longer and get whatever care the government decides is best for you based on your age and many other not so humanitarian criteria.

No, I don’t in theory pay for it anyway now. The Obamacare premiums for my family, not to mention the co-pays, were so astronomical that I could bank that money every month for 10 years and pay for cancer treatments out of my own pocket.

Not sure what you are talking about with the “war costs” but my family pays their fair share and then some in federal income tax alone.

Actually, I believe you are being a little dishonest here. Even under the ACA, someone with pre-existing conditions is not going to get their medical bills paid without paying into the pool. Coverage only begins when premiums are paid, and those premiums go in to the pool. But now let's talk about the Republican plan for those with pre-existing conditions.

It is called guaranteed acceptance. It is a separate pool comprised only of those that cannot get traditional health insurance. What do you think the premiums are for such a pool? Four figures, minimum, for an individual. Few, if any people, can afford thousands of dollars every month for a health insurance premium for just themselves. Republicans already complain about the subsidies under the ACA, what do you think the subsidies will be for those guaranteed acceptance pools?

There is one reason, and only one reason, that Repubicans want to eliminate the ACA. It has nothing to do with keeping your doctor, nothing to do with choice, nothing to do with the right not to have health insurance. Twenty million people have health insurance through the ACA. Hundreds of thousands of them left the workforce because they were no longer dependent on their employer for health insurance. Many women, and men too, left their job because the only reason they had it was because of their spouse, who was self-employed. Thousands more left their job and went in to business for themselves, they were no longer dependent on that employer for health insurance. Maybe they had a child with a chronic illness, maybe their spouse had health issues. With the ability to get health insurance on their own, without an employer, they were finally able to start the business they had always aspired to do.

Big business got pissed. Like the slaveowner that could not longer use chains, those businesses lost that chain of servitude that they had over their employees. Sadly, much of the wage growth that we have seen over the last decade can be traced right back to the loss of that form of bondage. Without the ACA, Amazon, Target, and other companies would never have adopted that $15 an hour minimum wage. They would not have had to.

And here is the thing. Those companies actually saved money and they don't even realize it. Health insurance is all about pools. The reality is everyone that has health insurance is really paying for their own health care, through premium dollars. Insurance is risk diversification, nothing more and nothing less. With the ACA that risk was diversified under increasingly larger pools instead of being segmented based on employment. Come on, work for a small independent retailer and one of your fellow employees needs a heart transplant, guess what, you and the rest of the employees pay for it. Can you not see how much less that cost would be if the risk was spread over thousands of people instead of the your dozen or so fellow workers? Or maybe you worked with a co-worker whose child had MS. You and the rest of the employees paid for that child's care. But that person left to start their own business. You and your co-workers are off the hook thanks to the ACA. Even the company saves money because the premiums are now lower.

The reality is that without the ACA large companies, like Walmart for instance, have the ability to diversify health care risk among tens of thousands employees. Meanwhile, the independent operator can only diversify his health care risk among his handful of employees. It is a competitive advantage that stifles competition, innovation, and productivity. They desperately want it back. An enlightened person would support the ACA.

Guaranteed acceptance and what we call preexisting conditions works to be the same damn thing. You get medical coverage for medical problems you had when you were not paying into the insurance pool.

Despicable welfare. Somebody else pays your bills.

Trump, Republicans and the Democrats are too chickenshit to oppose this unfair welfare.

It would be nice if the filthy ass Democrats didn't lie about it. Trump is just as much for it as they are.

Democrats are serial liars.

That is how insurance works period. Someone else paying when you have a claim.

Half the country has TDS so perhaps Obama was admitting TDS is a problematic prexisting condition?

That is probably true for some Americans... BUT NOT OVER HALF of all Americans which is how Obama
totally twisted the premise. I've never disagreed there were over half of all Americans with Pre-existing conditions...
BUT to never finish the statement that nearly all that have pre-existing conditions are either covered by their employer insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, military coverage was JUST criminal! Because it feeds people like you misperceptions and then there are laws passed that AFFECT us ALL!
Please explain to me if "PRE-Existing conditions" was affecting over 160 million Americans, WHY did only
was the total enrollment as of January 31, 2014... ONLY 19,569!
Please explain if over 160 million Americans have Pre-existing conditions, why did less than 0.000122% sign up?

And this has become a major re-election issue for why? Less than 19,569 people with Pre-existing conditions signed up!

Explain that please. Either there NEVER were 160 million Americans with Pre-existing conditions that didn't have
any coverage... OR if there were how grossly ineffective was the Obama administration of Obamacare? Either way you need to explain and please don't give me subjective, anecdotal, totally irrelevant stories about relatives or yourself,..
we are talking about the gross misperception that was fostered by Obama and now by Biden! He keeps hollering about over 100 million!!!! F...king liars!

Dummy! So what? Idiot Obama/Biden want you idiots to think those "over half of all Americans" don't have pre-existing conditions" covered... which is a total lie and YOU idiots believe without doing any verification!

Did Obama lie about everything? Yes.

Do people want insurance companies to be able to deny people over pre-existing conditions? No.

Trump has been saying that they are keeping Pre existing conditions....So, before you lie and say he isn't going to do that, it runs counter to what he is saying.

And when specifically asked how that will happen he has nothing.

Trump says lots of things.

Yeah? And how long during the conception of O-care did we hear nothing about what the specifics were? Hell, even Nancy said 'We'll have to pass the bill, to know what's in the bill'...

So, drop the double standard....Or admit that the threat of Trump doing away with PEC's is just a lie...

Bite me. I said Obama lied. I'm not the one with a double standard. Get a mirror.

The threat is NOT a lie. The Republicans could have passed or even presented something by now if they really meant it.

Ok, if the "threat is not a lie" then it should be super easy for you to post where Trump said he was going to have to get rid of PEC's....

Oh, and btw, your opening to this post highlights that you know I'm right.

Trump is arguing in the courts to end them. He is doing nothing in the legislature to do anything to keep them.

Trump is more concerned with destroying Obama’s legacy than protecting millions of Americans during a global pandemic

That is just a lie...Period...

Did Obama lie about everything? Yes.

Do people want insurance companies to be able to deny people over pre-existing conditions? No.

There was bipartisan support to fix the pre-existing conditions issue before Obamacare.

Show the bill

What bill are you speaking of?

You said there was bipartisan support.
Where was the bill?

There was, but Dems decided to purchase votes by taking money away from workers and gifting it to lazy lard ass mooching deadbeats with Obamacare. Tissue?

They didn't do it to purchase votes. Did you forget they got wiped out in 2010? They did it to make sure the campaign donations would continue to roll in.

It was wealth redistribution plain and simple.
