I picked-up a "refinished" Mod. 04 Winchester single shot today. The only thing they left the blue on was the correct front and rear sights and the trigger.....I might have it reblued. They did a good job on the stock.

It must have been made prior to 1927 due to the "extra long" stamping. I read where it was changed to LR in '27....None had serials.

Oddly enough the "extra long" cartridge was in fact longer than .22 LR but LR can be used in a E-L chamber the same as shorts or longs could.

Still and all I was glad to get it as it was the same rifle I was trained-on as a kid but I never found it after my granddad passed....I guess one of my cousins got it.

I gave $100.00 for it and it works just fine.

There was also a parts Model 1904 (older version of the same gun) included with the deal but it was missing the bolt/ extractor/ejector and the barrel was shot out.....That one (sans barrel) went on eBay as parts.

why inflation calculator would only go back to 1914.
but, that gun held its price well
guns are a good investment
