BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) – A group of Jewish women attacked a Palestinian woman Monday while she was waiting at a light rail station in Jerusalem and beat her severely, Israeli media reported.

Hebrew-language Israeli daily Maariv reported that an ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman passed by the Palestinian woman and punched her all of a sudden. Other women, friends of the assailant, then joined her and together they started to beat the woman forcefully.

“There were more than 100 Orthodox Jews including Yeshiva students who watched an Arab woman being beaten. She was escorted by an elderly man before a heated argument erupted and people shouted. I couldn’t understand the motive behind that, and all of a sudden they all attacked the Arab woman beating her severely,” said the witness

Kudos to the peace activist who capturd photographic evidence of the scene and reported it to the police which probably won't do anything anyways.

And if it is true, then frankly, the quiet response of the men will not surprise me. They're prihibited to touch women at all costs. If those were two Jewish women in the same situation, the result would have been similar.

But, anyway, that's the point to another thread. To the point HERE, it IS wierd when the 'attackers' are Haredim. Ultra Orthodox normally don't go around attacking people, they usually keep themselves away from Seculars, and especially Arabs. Normally, they do not look for trouble.

THAT's the weird part.

The police are investigating in and the government will arrest and prosecute the perpetrators. If a Jew is attacked in Gaza or Judea or Samaria, then the perpetrators are given metals, money and a standing ovation!
