Okay, genius. Why would additional funding be secured when $20B was already allocated at the end of September? FEMA has only disbursed 2% of those funds, and FEMA has a track record of securing funds and not spending them.

It's Democrats playing politics, while some Democrats said there is not a need to convene unless funding is immediately needed (which it isn't). Hell even the FEMA Administrator is communicating this genius.

You're just being obtuse .. FEMA already stated that additional funding was not needed, as millions have already been approved for both Helene and Milton. So, much ado about nothing except your opportunity to jump on the politicization bandwagon for FEMA funds that aren't needed.

From the article in the OP, which I already posted once in this thread. Since you've already demonstrated you didn't read the article, I'll throw you a bone. Two percent of the aid has already been dispersed, and a large portion has been allocated but not yet dispersed.

FEMA officials say they have sufficient resources to respond to the pair of hurricanes until Congress returns, but they also indicated nearly half that money is already spent.

So these two hurricanes have cost half of FEMAs available funds (and the recovery is costing a fortune).

That means that any other emergency that pops up will leave them without the funds to deal with them.

Are we done with hurricanes? Wild fires? Floods?

Again .. you failed to grasp the part where Congress (Democrats and Republicans) will have an emergency session if additional funds are needed for a disaster. At this point, FEMA stated they have enough funds.

It's Republicans and Democrats that decided to convene, as FEMA gave them the thumbs up on their funding needs. If funding is needed, an emergency call to session will occur and supplemental funding will be available. I'll take FEMA's approval on funding over some anonymous political forum poster.
