Mike Johnson "additional hurricane aide...

Can wait until congress is back in session after the election.
Can you believe this crap?
And you guys are saying FEMA isn't doing what they should?
SMH
Stop lying. That’s been totally debunked.
You fuckers really need to stop lying

Yeah, this is not sane. There is no excuse for this.

It's the alternate universe. They create and use their own facts, they play by their own rules and laws, they don't care. People across the political spectrum are in agreement that this is madness, and it doesn't seem to matter.

Steve Bannon is getting the destruction and chaos he wanted. This is killing us in real time. It's like I'm in a fuckin' zombie movie.

What reality is as an example...Gretchen Whitmer represents the ghettos, prog women, prog cities of Michigan. No one else. Yet she is Governor.

How much will Congress allocate if they don't know the impact of a supplemental disaster request? Tell me, genius.

In reality, the impacted states do an initial impact damage assessment (IDA, typically taking 1 - 2 weeks), followed by a preliminary damage assessment (PDA, typically taking 1 - 2 weeks) if the IDA indicates significant damage. Following the PDA, the governor makes a Request for Federal Assistance (typically taking 1 week). Once the request is received, Congress will evaluate the proposed funding levels and allocate additional funds if needed.

You can read all about it here.
They can make an estimate and pass legislation making that amount of money available.

But no. Johnson is slow walking this

LOL .. Since you seem to be the subject matter expert and don't agree with FEMA's own documentation, how is Mike Johnson slow-walking the established process? How much would Mike Johnson allocate? How long does it take? Tell us, genius.

The WH approved an extra 20 mil in days

Johnson is just lying

That's because the funds had already been allocated in the Disaster Relief Fund which doesn't require congressional approval. It's already been funded genius. Now, for new spending, which you're bitching about, how much will Mike Johnson allocate? What steps should FEMA set aside so they can do the Lesh plan who is more intelligent than they? Tell us, genius.

Here’s an idea.

Pass the supplemental that they failed to pass in late Sept

Do you know why or are you focusing on the just the outcome? Gosh, I hate stupid people that don't do their own research and just rely on regurgitated clips to communicate. Naturally, your article focuses on "will have to wait until we come back" part and included a small snippet in the last couple sentences (which nobody, like you, reads)

Mike Johnson stated it clearly: "The way supplemental disaster funding is provided is that, you know, the state sends in actual needs. It's assessed by Congress and then handed out that way." Congress doesn't just appropriate supplemental disaster funding, and it can take several days to several weeks for impacted states to assess their needs. Meanwhile, FEMA has only distributed 2% of it's available funds, with a total of $11B obligated (but not dispersed). FEMA also stated they have what they need until Congress reconvenes.
It's a lame excuse.

Is the goal of this whole orange disaster to literally bring the country down and then build it back up from the ashes?

As compared to, you know, fixing problems?
Not so sure they wanna build it back so much as lord it over the rubble.

I don;t know, but I'm gonna guess not.
I get the immediacy of the current storms but if they didn’t in the past, why would they now?

The response could always be better and more robust and nobody who has ever lost power or been stranded by floodwaters has ever thought the response was all that it could be. I was that person more than once! LOL.

As for the politics of it, we’re playing the right wing game by trying to amplify every development into some crime of the century.

Okay, genius. Why would additional funding be secured when $20B was already allocated at the end of September? FEMA has only disbursed 2% of those funds, and FEMA has a track record of securing funds and not spending them.

It's Democrats playing politics, while some Democrats said there is not a need to convene unless funding is immediately needed (which it isn't). Hell even the FEMA Administrator is communicating this genius.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell told reporters Wednesday that the agency is able to “support all of the needs of everyone that was impacted by Helene and Milton.”

What else you got genius?
