I recall November 3, 1976 and being at my job as a computer programmer at Nationwide Insurance's home office in downtown Columbus. Now at that time in my career I mostly recall the wasteful Fridays before the Ohio State and Michigan games. But on this particular Wednesday I found it whimsical that a fellow employee wore a black armband in mourning over the previous day's presidential election result. Now coming back to these days, there might be demand for these armbands leading up to the election, an opportunity particularly for crafters who have found the business of making face masks has slowed from the days back when supplies were so low.
